    Default Newbie Introduction: Hello!

    Hello all! Newbie here... I have been lurking for several days, and thought I would just pop in and say a quick hello and thank you for all that I have learned using the search feature of the forum.

    I have always been a fan of cigars, but only smoked maybe 4 or 5 a year, leaving the selection to other or the cigar shop, never really putting much effort into learning more, just enjoying what I got. Recently it was my 5th anniversary last week (the wooden anniversary!) and my lovely wife got me a humidor, 2 propane lighters, a cutter and about $200 worth of hand made cigars... 15 cigars total ranging from $3 to $30... This forum was invaluable getting things set up as close to right as I could for the humidor (having humidity issues... big surprise!).

    A little about me, I am a software engineer in a security company in Northern Virginia... I love cars (having raced for years, currently own a Dodge Charger SRT8 that I "improved" a bit), motorcycles (ride most of the summer, spring and fall) and guns (compete in "practical" matches... USPSA, IDPA, etc.).

    Anyhow, I hope to learn a lot and contribute where I can!

    Welcome from northwest Louisiana. A few of the cigars your wife set you up with are amongst some of my favorite cigars - particularly, the Savinelli, the LGC Serie R's, and the Padron Maddie. I'd be interested in hearing how you liked those.

    If you want a broader sampler, you should check out the Newbie Sampler Thread in the Exchange section of the forum. There you can get hooked up with some quality, classy smokes, that (at least for me) helped me in deciding what I liked and what I didn't. Check it out.

    Nice Selection. I'm having the same issue with the chilly weather. Cigar lounge closes at 11pm, I get out of work at 10:30pm.
