    Thumbs up CAO Gold Torpedo

For all of you beginners out there I really want you to try this cigar. I have not been smoking cigars for that long (about a year) and I am starting to develope my palate a little. At first i thought that a mild cigar was for wimps and i did try a few mild cigars that had lots of smoke and not much flavor, so i was left wanting more. If you are just developing your taste for cigars but you still want lots of sweet nutty flavor then you MUST try this cigar.

This cigar lit very well, had great ash and equally great burn. The Connecticut wrapper does not add much to the flavor, but it is constructed very well and has few if any imperfections. This cigar starts you out with very mellow suttle flavors and builds a little as you get into the middle but the entire cigar is smooth and mellow. As i said earlier, if you don't want to be overpowered but you still wants lot of flavor than this is it. I give it a 9/10 for draw, burn, ash, and flavor. Please try a few of these, you will not be dissappointed, especially when you see the price range. I am really looking forward to trying other CAO cigars, including the CAO Gold Maduro, CX2, and MX2.

Thanks for the review. Give the Brazilia a try, it's my favorite CAO and I also really like the LX2.

My buddy and I smoked yesterday. He smoked an lx2. Half way through, he stood up and then almost fell. It put him on his ass. Tasted great, and it had a spice that bit the tip of your tongue hard.

The last few times I've smoked an LX2 I was drinking...that combo will really put you on your butt!

Just reading this today and coincidently, I just had my third CAO Gold Torpedo from the 5-pack I won at auction 4-5 months ago.

I keep trying to like this cigar, but for some reason it doesn't do it for me. It looks great, perfect construction, feel and burn. Yet to me, it's more of a medium stick with a distinctive taste profile and characteristics that just doesn't do it for me.

For a mild-medium (mild with flavor), I prefer Perdomo Reserve La Tradicion Connecticut (re-released in 2008 with basically the same blend as the 10th Anniversary Connecticut), the H. Uppmann Signature, the Gurkha Signature 1887 Red, or a Foncesca (the Triangulare is awesome). Romeo y Julieta Reserve Real is also an excellent choice.
