Thread: Cao mx2

    Default Cao mx2

I've started a list of cigars I've tried before but want to revisit as my palate has developed over the last couple years. This week...

CAO MX2, Toro size (6"x54). Nice looking wrapper with a little bit of splotchiness and some veins. Used V cut and draw seemed a little tight. Nice flavor in pre-light puff. Lit up and draw was a little tight, but not as bad as I thought it would be. Flavor was nice at first with a smooth maduro flavor. Burn stayed very even the entire smoke. Flavor didn't change much. Got tired of tight draw at halfway point so used full guillotine, this helped a little, but still required two puffs to get smoke. The cigar is actually much milder than most would assume considering its dark wrapper.

Summary: This cigar is a two-puffer to get a decent amount of smoke. Flavor was nice but became boring after smoking about 2/3 of the cigar. Tossed with 1.5 – 2 inches remaining. For the price, one can do better, but if you must, I would stick to shorter lengths (like the robusto) due to lack of complexity.

The only CAO in my current rotation is the Italia box pressed. The other lines are just average to me.

Hmm, I've only had the belicoso, but I've had many of them and really enjoyed each one. I need to fire up my Mx3 one of these days and see how that compares.

I found that the MX2, (and the brazilia/Italia), tend to smoke better at around 60% rh. try dryboxing them for a day or even two.

I like the MX2 OK, but I don't go looking for them anymore.

I'll have to try that with my next Italia. So where the heck are people getting the MX3? I've seen that video with the CEO in the headquarter humidor. I need to head over to Nashville and tour that place...

Google CAO headquarters, and you'll find a thread on the Stogie Review forum with pics from some guy that toured it...

@JFellows: Where the hell does one get an Mx3? I have heard of them, but have never seen them, like El Chupacabara (sp?).

I think you will enjoy the MX3. I smoked one of mine last night, and I find it very enjoyable.

You don't understand. Sushiboy may be solar-powered, but he has no fingers. (The Japlish (Chinese actually) in the last pic is particularly funny.)

    Sorry, couldn't resist .

And you still can't find the shift key.
