newbie introduction from Richmond VA

Hello all! Joined a few days back and have been lurking so here is my proper introduction.

In the past I've smoked cigars whenever someone would offer me one then recently tried a Nub Habano and decided I wanted more! I then tried a CAO gold and thought it was OK. I've always liked full bodied beers and wines, so I got a Oliva Serie V soon realized I'm not quite into full bodied cigars yet! Potent! The smell also made my fiancee second guess my new habit. Ha! Oh well!

Some internet research later and I have a coolidor in the making and am ready to start collecting (and smoking)! You guys have been amazingly helpful, if not for this forum I would have blown money on a commercial humidor, now I can put it all towards cigars. Also, the newbie trade thread is a great idea.

Welcome from Manassas, VA. There are a growing number of us in the area, you should try and make a herf some time. They happen about monthly these days.

Do you ever go to Uncle Mikey's? He's out on West Broad Street. I was in town for a car show four years ago and got a chance to stop in his shop and meet him. He's a GREAT guy.

Didn't know it existed, drove by it a million times and never saw it. Stopped in today, wow! Thanks for the tip! By far the best selection in town, Mikey was really friendly and knowledgeable. That's my new store of choice! Picked up a Nub Hab, Oliva G, and on Mikey's recommendation an Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion I am really looking forward to lighting up after dinner tonight and christening the Stinky ashtray I picked up there.
