    Default Ticker's intro thread

Here tickers, so we can get out of gifters intro and since you're claiming to be waiting on Hex to greenlight your initial post, here is a thread where you can stand on your dick all you want.

Already many have recognized your own arrogance and pretentiousness, characteristics you freely assign to others. Funny how that works. A few have given you some good advice. You should follow it. Or, you could go pound sand up your ass.

I'm not looking for a fight or anything like that. I came here to talk with others about cigars. I really don't think you are being respectful starting a thread like this. If you think otherwise thats ok, you are entitled to your opinion as well.

If it makes you happy: You are 100% and I am way out of line. I don't care anymore and don't want to drag this on any longer. Lets get passed this so we can get along and talk about cigar related topics. I look forward to learning from yourself and others who have much more knowledge and wisdom than I do in the cigar realm.

    Well, I tried.

Ticker, that was exactly the wrong thing to post.

All that when, "I was out of line, sorry." was all that was called for. Classic and often repeated mistake.

Oh, and is the post about a humidor your introduction? Ya know, the one in the accessories forum.

It may be, no wait, for sure would be, a good idea for you to heed the previously given advice to "read more / post less".

Basil I think I know what Ticker's intro problem was. I am going to throw out a guess that he tried to post it before he was verified as a member and that is what he was told had to be done and he just misunderstood.

Anyway yea Ticker post an intro but then just stfu for a few minutes. You're new obviously and are supposedly here to learn something. What happens do you suppose when a person that is supposed to be learning bridge building starts offering advice on bridge building? Do you want to drive across the bridge that advice helps create. What I am saying is you never learn if you constantly talk. Slow down and absorb a bit.

Yes it had to be verified first and it is now up.

I was told to stfu on my 2nd or 3rd post for welcoming another new member like myself. My subsequent posts have been dealing with this whole pointless ordeal.

And your response to that was basically a "yea? well go fuck yourself." Maybe it should have been, "whoa, wait a second did I do something wrong? I was trying to welcome a new member to the board but if I have had some type of screw up let me know. I really don't want to piss anybody off."

I'm not saying that you did anything incorrectly by welcoming someone to the forum however to responding to a senior member with immediate defensiveness and aggression is not the correct way to handle a misunderstanding. Maybe basil was wrong and I'm sure if he was he will say so. If you're in a bar and run into someone they might get a little hot at first but if you respond with a "go fuck yourself dickface" attitude don't be surprised if you get punched. Instead a "hey man sorry about that, let me buy you a drink." is probably the better answer.

LMAO .... OMG, I'm sorry I had to laugh at that one. It reminded me of Tom Leykis, and the Bob and Tom Show.

Well, its been a short stay. I'm sure some of you will be glad to hear I will be leaving this forum as I've found one with people who are much more level headed and mature than the few (I can only speak for the ones I've run into) here. No hard feelings but I know I wasn't in the wrong but trying to explain myself is like talking to deff ears as its obvious no one will give the time of day to a new member here which is too bad.

Take care everyone and remember to lighten up,

Probably for the best. Try not to stick your foot in your mouth at your new site.

As thin as your skin is, you're probably not cut out for cigar forums. At least not the good ones. You may fit in over at puff.com.

This was undoubtedly one of the mildest confrontations I have seen someone leave over.

Ash, I think you missed the dash of sarcasm sprinkled over Shelby's post...or maybe I'm just reading it how I would have written it.

<sigh> My entitlement to my opinion . . . Well, thanks.

If it makes me happy . . . Are you being obtuse on purpose? Condescension will get you nowhere.

    And, I think you mean "Let's get past this . . ."

No one is going to mind if you ask questions or post or whatever. Taken together, your posts are a bit . . immature, or at the very least, contrived. Whether or not you fit here, today, nobody gives a shit. If you want to be a part of this community, then research, use the search function, and you want to be taken seriously, grow up a little.

ETA: Oh shit, you're leaving. Didn't notice - my bad.

You seem like an awfully bright person - yet (oddly), you seem fairly full of your own ignorance. If you were not looking for a "fight" - why would you take on someone when you do not know the full context or meaning of their membership here. You talk about their "post count" going to their head, yet (theoretically) you should not know whether his post count went to his head, or that he truly is a respected and valued member of this community and taking him on would lead to a flame fest.

So - which is it? Are you truly ignorant and wish to correct your faux pas? Or are you here to flex your muscles and establish yourself as the alpha?
