    Default Another Newbie says Hi

Howdy. I am 49, male, and like to smoke coronas occasionally...much to my wife's chagrin.
I also have a 4 yr old rugrat. So, you can see, I do need the 1 hour vacation from the family that a corona and a beer provides every so often.

I live in Boston, so don't get me going on the gubment unless you want to hear a lot of VERY negative stuff.

    Cigars I have loved:
Various Cuban coronas: R&J, Monte, Partagas.
    NC: Padron, Dona Flor.
Basically, I am on a forever hunt for high quality, good value coronas.

    Cigars I disliked:
ACID Earthiness--hate that syrupy flavoring they put on the wrapper...too bad too, bcuz the construction and smoke of the thing was actually very nice. But yuck--that syrup!
NC Partagas--too peppery for me. Maybe they would mellow and be better if I had aged them in my humi for a year. I guess I just don't like peppery cigars.
    Bolivar -- poorly made coronas.

    Aging in my humi now:
Monte Afrique Jungle Book -- I estimate they will need to lie down for a year.
Rocky P Decade -- These are larger than I prefer, but a nice smooth, well made stick.
La Fincas -- these are my give aways to beggars.
    Padron
Some old cuban corona with no band...might be a partagas.

Mostly I have just been reading everyone's posts so far...some great stuff!

Welcome from CO. I recently smoked an Illusione ECCJ Corona and enjoyed it. It might fit your criteria for a Corona.

Thanks for the welcome...and the Illusione lead. I haven't yet had one, will find one to try it!

    Welcome from South Carolina!

One of my favorite corona sized cigars is the Joya de Nicaragua Celebracion Corona.

    Welcome to the board.
I have made it a rule never to smoke more that one cigar at a time.

Welcome from N. Virginia. I second the ECCJ, however it had a bit of pepper taste to me, obviously YMMV.
