Thread: Question about the humidifier's.

    Default Question about the humidifier's.

I was wondering if the little disc humidifier I got with my humidor is the best thing to use. I was reading articles about how they aren't really ideal. This is the humidor I have:

Would it be ok to use the standard humidifier or should I get one of the 65%rh Heartfelt tubes?

I have almost that exact humi, except I got the 50 ct. with the lock and key.(I was skeptical of CC but they have some great stuff!) The round disk they sent me has served me well for almost 6 months now! I seasoned my humi at the beginning of January and it has maintained a constant 72% humidity the entire time, with minor dips of course in which I added a little more distilled water and it raised back up. Beads are great because you can physically see when you need to add more distilled water. I would probably recommend upgrading the hygrometer first, it did well in the salt test but I still have a tough time trusting it. I will def upgrade it to an electronic when I get the money!

I too have that humidor and the gauge in it is trash. At least mine was
It passed the salt test while i was seasoning the humidor and then humidity seemed to be hanging at 73. Well now I'm pretty sure the needle got stuck because when I got my digital gauge it said the humidity had dropped to under 60. I acquired appropriate humidification equipment and things have been steady around 74. Well somewhat appropriate. I don't think it needs to be that high, but I've got about 5 cigars in it now which probably explains that.
