Default Tru Green irritates me sometimes.

The guys would slap every lawn care chemical known to man on your lawn twice a week if you let them. Every year, they tell me I need lime, grub control, iron, etc. Every year I say "No thanks, just the weed and feed please." They talked me in to lime once. Then they wanted to put it down againa couple months later. I was confused as I couldn't believe my Ph was that far off, so I asked them what the Ph of my lawn was that it needed another app of lime. I was answered by worried throat clearing and silence. Winds up they didn't even test the Ph the first time. I tested it myself and found soil on the alkaline side of neutral.

This year, I caught them trying to put down Grub control I didn't order and put a stop to it. Two weeks later, they pull money for a lime treatment I didn't order. They're trying to pull a fast one and give services that weren't ordered. Looks like I'll be breaking out the spreader the rest of this year, because they can go fertilize their collective asses.

Check with the BBB to see if it's a trend with the company or if you just got a crooked dealer.

I caught the bastards trying to treat my lawn once a month for 3 months AFTER I canceled their service. Even had the nerve to try and bill me and sent a collection agency after me. After I got done with the collection agency, they told Tru Green to fuck off. A year later the Tru Idiots sent me a notice telling me I could settle my past due account for 10% less if I would respond immediately. I had fun with those shitheads...

I had contracted with them for the basic weed and feed. Fuckers left a notice on my door telling me the weeds would die out in the winter after I called and complained that their service was doing the exact opposite of what it was supposed to do. The grass looked like shit and I had to cut the weeds twice a week.

Truly one of the worst companies evah!

What is this "lawn" thing you guys speak of?? I spray agent orange all over the rocks in the yard about once a year. Done.

I just do not care about the lawn. I spend so much time in the garden, the only attention I ever give the lawn is that I mow it every 10 days (to keep the mosquito population down) and edge (which takes minutes). The whole damn thing could die off and I'd be just fine with it.

A lady that works in my department used another lawn care service - she enjoyed them, but they got rather costly (~$40 - $50 a month?). I'll try to find out who they were.

It is very necessary to check the soil nature(whether it is acidic or basic)

so pH of the soil is to be tested carefully.....

How would I go about testing the PH of my soil?

If you need stuff for your grass, try Zamzow's (www.zamzows.com). They are based out of the Boise area, but offer some fantastic stuff for lawn care. I use their line of products and its taken my grass from almost dead to a rich dark green.

The Tru-Green guys don't come round my place ..... I think it was my marathon weapons cleaning session in my garage while smoking a Casa Magna in July while I was home. I only get one chance a year while I'm home from the sandbox.

I think the cigar is what did it.
