I am a fan of Rocky Patel in general and I like a cameroon wrap now and then so I decided to try one of these and give it a review.
The cut was easy. A well constructed smoke. The draw was easy. Pre-light taste was tangy and mildly spicy. I could taste the cameroon. I thought "yummy" this will be great.
The light was effortless and it burned even all the way through. The draw was great. Not a lot of smoke though. The smoke was light grey. The ash was a medium grey with dark specks that fell off at about 1".
The flavor was consistent throughout only changing slightly in the last third where it got a little stronger and a tad sweet. It was "tangy", "mildly spicy" and "slightly nutty" all the way through. It had a dry profile. I would consider this a mild-medium smoke leaning towards the mild side. I would not purchase another unless they were extremely inexpensive. I would not turn one down if handed one. Not a dog-rocket for sure.
Overall I was disappointed in this smoke mainly because I am used to the rich robust flavor of most all of the RP's that I have smoked. This smoke was too "weak" for my tastes.
The cameroon wrap flavor was the only redeeming factor for this stick IMHO.
Ironically, my first review I give a thumbs-down to a stick by one of my all time favorite brands.
Rating? I haven't even decided what my scale will be.
Well, on a 1-10 scale I am being generous giving this one a 4.
I see someone else reviewed this same stick in a different size here:
