Thread: Buying from US Ebay - Importing regulations?

  1. Default Buying from US Ebay - Importing regulations?

Are there any specific regulations or customs rules in regards
to me buying a spanish cedar humidor from US Ebay?

They seem to be a hell of alot cheaper for good quality, I presume
I don't have to pay tax duty? as It's not cigars for example?

I just want to double check before I buy this little beauty :D

My wife bought me a 500 count humidor from cheaphumidors.com last x'mas. They are a heck of a lot cheaper and we didn't pay any duty on them like you do on cigars. Of course you pay a lot for shipping because of the size and weight of the item as well as the distance travelled. But it's still a lot less $$$ than buying here.

For example, my first humidor was a 100 count bought at my favorite B&M. If memory serves me, I paid about $180.00 for the humidor. Here's the exact same one a cheaphumidors:

Even with shipping, I'd have saved around $80.

I do believe that site is remarkable... I don't wish to sound cheap but for my first humidor, I am a student and thus have a tiny / limited budget at the moment...
I looked at an Ashti ? Humidor .. Only small, I want a humidor I can just put at the back of my cubboard and forget about for a few weeks and occasionally have a
nice cigar from you know... aging...

I chose the less expensive shipping and in total it came out to $35... which is well within my budget.

    So thanks :D
