Chefchris’s review (of a Delicias)

Smoke: Padron 3000 Maduro
Drink(s): Porter
Tunes: Jimi Hendrix & Jethro Tull

Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Draw: Light
Burn: Excellent
Misc: 60 minutes

Pre-light: A little “rough” looking. Classic plain band. Dark brown, but lighter in some areas. Has a pretzel like finish to it. Little bumps on wrapper, and it feels light. Sweet scent, and has no prelight flavor

Light: Easy, but I took my time with it. Light draw.

1st 3rd: Off the bat, it’s a little harsh, and very peppery. There’s nutty, and faint chocolate. These flavors underlie the pepper. You Gotta “sip” this one. Fast burn. Some leather mixing in now too. Medium body, and full flavor.

Ash: My favorite kind with the little white bubbles, dark and gray mottled. Looks airy and flimsy. Held on for 1 ½”

2nd 3rd: Now we’re talking! Leather, nutty, oily, chocolate. Not quite as creamy as the natural, but excellent. Harshness actually subsided a while ago along with the pepper. Delicious.

3rd 3rd: Same as the 2nd mostly. I think the maduro wrapper is “toothier” and gives it that edge. Like a slightly acrid aftertaste. Still good. Ahhhh. And there’s billowing white smoke when you give it a good puff or two. A nice licorice taste down at the nub.

Overall impression: I’m a self admitting pardon whore.
