Thread: Cigars for the troops

  1. Default Cigars for the troops

I see people having interest in doing this so we are going to do 1. I do not have a unit in mind yet so we can discuss this as we collect cigars .I would like the receivers to have a tie to someone or their family on the board. If you want to send some cigars send them to me ,my addy is in my profile. I DO NOT need any $ for shipping I will cover this myself.

Whatever you want to send is fine, some us have the means to send more than others. I dont really care if you can only afford to send 2 cigars, thats cool. All packages sent for this will remain private and not discussed by me to anybody else. I will re package all of them together.

If we have a huge turnout maybe we can send a couple of units cigars instead of just 1 unit. I have participated in a few of these and IMHO there is no need to send real heavy or strong cigars. Most of the men are not avid cigar smokers but still like an occasional cigar. If you give a novice a Joya de Nigaragua Antano all you are gonna do is make the guy puke .

I say we collect for about 2 weeks and figure out who we are going to send these to .

    Count me in as well.

Are we only sending sticks or can we add additional items like wet wipes / jerky?

I do this already with some of my sticks and our Saturday Night smoke in front of the Chapel and Wednesday Movie Night here on the FOB that I'm on, and I kicked in some sticks, a humidor, and some PG fluid to a group of Marines out in Ar Ramadi, Iraq.

Let me know what's needed and I'll just buy it from CI, JR, etc. and have it shipped direct to you.

Damn, thats a good idea. I was trying to figure out when I could get to the post office to send a box off. It'll be a whole lot easier to send right from CI or another site.

Yeah it was easier for me to do it this way. It takes about 3 weeks for me to get cigars from the States out here in Iraq, and then of course trying to send it back would put another 4 weeks minimum on it. I've gotten stuff from CI in as little as 10 days, but the mail hasn't been running like it normally does. Something about the third country national truck drivers were on strike or some crazy garbage like that.

Maybe we can ask Leena when she comes back.
