Default H. Upmann Naturals ~ Lancero

Other's reviews (None found, searching the Reviews Forum)

Smoke: H. Upmann Naturals ~ Lancero
    Drink(s): Yeungling Chesterfield Ale
    Tunes: None

    Wrapper: Indonesia / USA Connecticut
    Binder: Dominican Republic
    Filler: Domnincan Republic / Mexico
    Draw: Medium
    Burn: Excellent
    Misc: 60+ minutes

Pre-light: Comes in a tube. Out, has a medium brown shade wrapper. A little rough looking, but appears to have good construction. Musky scent & a light bitter / tobacco prelight taste.

    Light: Easy. Medium draw.

1st 3rd: Sweet, leather taste. Oil. Pretty nice right off the bat. Nice musty ring to it. Light to medium body, with medium flavor.

Ash: Flimsy. Dark tiny speckles against a slightly off white ash. Holds on for ¾”

2nd 3rd: As with most lanceros, you have to “sip” these. More of the same profile, solid medium draw. Excellent sweet / leather taste & oil. Nice. Very smooth & no spices.

3rd 3rd: Same. Flavors getting more “intense” now & heat picking up. Good balance of flavors though. Leather, sweetness dominant with oil on the side. Again, it has a nice musty flavor to it.

Overall impression: Thanks again Smoked! for the oppourtunity. This was a very nice cigar IMHO, however I don’t know if I can find this particular one again. Maybe they are marketed in a different tube now. Have to look.

    Will, great review!

Is that really a lancero or a churchill? Seems pretty big. Nontheless, looks like a good smoke.

I was a small ring gage, so I still think its a lancero. I guess the pics are decieving.

I was about the size of an El Titan redemption to put it in perspective.

As you said, Will, they are very consistent from start to finish.

This may be a discontinued model. The original boxes are long gone, so there's no telling what the exact description is or whether this blend is still in production. I believe I still have several of these.

Great review will! Do you like lanceros specifically and do they offer a more pleasurable smoking experience compared to larger ring guages? What's your preference?
Just another day at the office!
