    Default Cigar Draft VII

If everyone thinks we can sneak it in before the holidays, I'm game to run it. I in no way want it to interfere with Secret Santa though.
EDIT TO ADD RULES AND PARTICIPANTS:

    Cigar Draft VII
The Godfathers of Cigar Drafts ricmac25 & gatorsmg at Cigar Snobs came up with this idea and I want to run with it here.

This is a pass of sorts but done in a fantasy football draft style.

    # of participants
You just need to be a CigarSmokers member in good standing. I will allow as many people who what to play join!

    # of sticks to play
5 sticks. Lets make this one $4 and up sticks. If you have any question about a stick post it and if no one says anything with in two days then it's good to go. Check and compare prices Here to get an idea of what your smoke is worth.

    How it will work
Everyone playing will submit 5 sticks to the draft. These sticks should be posted in the draft thread (Please wait two days before sending sticks for review. If no one says anything then mail away.).

All sticks will be mailed to me along with $4.80 ,cash is fine, (?$ for our Canada BOTL's. Books are heavy. I would need to look into this.) to help with my shipping costs back to each participant. Once all sticks have been received I will post a list of all cigars in the draft. We will make our selections just as in a fantasy football draft ie: if there are five players each player chooses any one stick per turn in this order 1,2,3,4,5,5,4,3,2,1 etc. I will put all of the participants names in a hat and draw them one at a time, the 1st drawn being first to pick in the draft and so on. After each selection is made it will be posted in the thread and the next person will make their selection.

******We will set some sort of time limit on this so it doesn't take forever to complete our draft. Once everyone has selected their 5 sticks and the draft is completed I will mail each player their selections.****** Participants will have 3 hours from the previous selection to make their pick, except between the hours of 11 PM and 7 AM CST. If no pick is made in that time frame, the selection will be moved to the end of the draft and be made from the sticks remaining after all others have made their 5 selections. If multiple members miss picks.....I'll have a fuckin' aneurysm first, then they will be placed in the order of the picks missed to make their remaining selections. If you don't understand this, don't worry, neither do I really, but can assure you it will be as fair as possible.******* added 102309

So it's basically a pass but instead of taking your turn and then seeing something you would have liked to try pop up later when it's too late you get to see ALL of the possibilities up front. Of course the hard part is deciding which sticks are a "priority for you".

I'd do it, but I don't have any cash and the only paper money they give out is Iraqi Dinar. Since its not traded on the open market its worthless, and if I did I would need to send almost 6000 Iraqi Dinar as the in country exchange rate is almost 1200 Dinar to 1 USD.

I'd like to join if it's ok. I know you said we have to be in good standing, and I'm new, but maybe I can since I would have to send my end first anyway?

anyways, I dont know what my cigars are worth, so if I can join please tell me if they are acceptable.

Let me ask you a few questions and see if you can figure out if you qualify as in "good standing".

Have you introduced yourself to the board, even just a teeny bit?
In both of your first posts, have you asked us to do stuff for you because you are too lazy to do it yourself?
Were the cigars listed above in the sampler you just bought? And you don't know what they're worth?

    1. Yes I have. My intro is being reviewed by the admins, and you should see it soon. :)
    2. No, in my review post, I just wanted to see what you guys thought about them, and it gave me a chance to interact with ya'll. sorry for asking...
    3. Yes they were in the sampler, and no I dont know what they're worth.

O.K. for some reason I thought registrations were reviewed, not individual posts. Wouldn't seem to make much sense to review an intro post but allow others....but hey, I don't run the forum.

There are alot of member reviews posted here. Search would help you out.

The cigars you have are worth the total you paid for the sampler / sticks in the sampler....simple as that. We don't profit off each other here. There is a link to a pricing site in the first post of this thread to value cigars. Nobody is going to do your work for you. There are plenty of resources on here to see how cigars are valued, traded, sold, etc.....again, search would help.

Well yea, it took a couple days for my registration to be reviewed... and the first thing I posted was an intro... It said it's being reviewed... I cant help it, and I dont know why you think I'm lying...

I got a humidor in the package too, so it wouldnt be the total price / # of cigars.

And from now on I will use the search before I ask a question. Thanks for that advice. :) I'm a newb here man, I'm learning...

Honestly man, I think you should hang around more before participating in something like this. They come around every so often and if you stick here, you'll have another chance soon enough.

Try the newb sampler if you want a good selection of smokes to try out.

C'mon let's get some people in this thing!! The draft is fun, cheap, gives you newer guys some board credibility, and did I mention it's fun and cheap?
