    Default Box Pressed vs. Round

    Hey guys,

Is it just me or does anyone else here really like the appearance of box pressed cigars? Maybe it is the engineer in me, but those straight corners are just so dang appealing. Or maybe it is the conservation of space that I like, or maybe it is just because they are different (although those culebras are different and I think they are ugly).

I have also read that the box pressed cigars can be more flavorful and burn slower, and I suppose, are not as hot. It also seems like these are easier to rotate while smoking in order to keep a constant burn because you just have 4 quadrants to keep track of.

    Just thinking out loud...

I like me some box pressed. They do smoke a bit cooler, and here in Iraq thats a plus. I've really got a thing for the boxed pressed Apex from the 5 Vegas Series "A" line.

I agree, I enjoy the look of a box-pressed cigar. They tend to, for me at least, smoke better and have a better construction. Olivia box-pressed cigars are some of my favorite.

For a while there last year I was on a box press kick. I really enjoy em, but have settled back into having a nice variety of sticks to smoke and mix up, as that is what I like best.

I like the cigar shaped ones, in my mouth, burning at the opposite end. Those are my favorites.

Yeah, those ones with the opposite end burning usually do taste better

Didn't Kramer do that once... or maybe it was when he was smoking a pipe - hilarious.

I don't go out of my way to look for box-pressed cigars. Sometimes they just happen. They don't rest easily in my hand or mouth.

    There are exceptions, of course!

Have not smoked enought to form an opinion on box press cigars. I have had a few with mixed results. So far I am open to boxed press cigars.

The only box press I'm truly fond of is the Padron Anny's. And it's not because they will not roll off the table...

Sure! This is America! ANYTHING can be bought!

There are several Padron Anniversaries that are box-pressed. Come to think of it, I can't think of one that isn't. I'm sure there is.

I really don't care but if I have a choice between a box of SLR Serie A (which are box pressed) or a CAB of SLR Serie A (which are not), I will go out of my way to obtain and smoke the ones out of the CAB because they are not box pressed. In the case of most Cuban cigars, I prefer to not have them box pressed.

when given the choice, i will almost always go for the box pressed. they just feel better in my mouth and hand.

Variety is the spice of life, but if I had to choose, i prefer the box pressed. They feel just a little bit better in my hand.

Handy for resting your smoke on the pool table while scratching on the 8 ball.
