Smoke: Nicaraguan BP Padron Anni Alt ~ Maduro Toro
Drink: None
Tunes: None
Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Draw: Light
Burn: ran fine
Misc: 75 minutes
Pre-light: Maduro wrapper. Nice construction. Has a semi-box pressed shape to it, but not crisp. Faint sweet tobacco taste, and a musty tobacco scent.
Light: Easy. Light draw.
1st 3rd: Leather, and has a sweet tobacco ring to it. However, it has a dry finish like a walnut skin inside the shell. Oily flavors too.
Ash: Crumbly. Only held on for 3/4” before falling off onto my review notebook. Mottled light & medium gray.
2nd 3rd: Mostly the same flavor profile. More mellow now. Medium body. Light to medium flavor. Mild nose exhale burn. The leather & oil are dominant, as well as the walnut skin aftertaste.
3rd 3rd: Oil flavor now dominates the profile. Getting too bitter. A purge seemed to help a little.
Overall impression: Prolly a decent yard-gar for some people. Not quite my cup of tea, and it really doesn’t come close to a PAM…I would seek other budget smokes.
Thank you Smoked! for the chance to try one.
