Who doesn't like ash? A large, round, warm to the touch ash -- wait -- what are we talking about here?

Seriously, what's with the ash-fixation? The only time I consciously chose not to lose the ash was with a Nub I was smoking just to see if it would preform as advertised.

I personall think an ash melllows out the cigar in a few ways. For one, it stops it from burning so hot, and for two, it mellows out the flavor of the cigar enabling you to enjoy the cigar more.

A like to keep some ash on board. I do not normally get this long of an ash going but I too believe it mellows the smoke some and keeps the cherry cooler. I will keep it to about, at the most, 2 inches normally. JOE>

This was Mark's try at it. It was burning pretty uneven but he got it down to a nub before he lost it.
