Thread: Should all cigars be stored in humidors?

  1. Default Should all cigars be stored in humidors?

    Dear cigar smoker's,

I have recently visited a local tobacco store to buy a cigar. Usually I order them online but this solution was now quicker and I was surprised that some of the cigars were just laying on the shelf without being humidified.
The sales lady told me that only handmade cigars should be stored in humidors and those machine made should NOT be there. I was a bit shocked and I don't see a single reason why this could be true.

    What is your opinion?

I think people should write an introduction for their first post.

    That's my opinion

The answer is yes and no. Use search to find out why.

Also, as others have suggested, you may want to introduce yourself.

Machine made cigars should always be humidified, just separate from handmades. I keep one humi for my Acids and Drews and have a separate humidor for my Dutch Masters and White Owls.

Sheesh .... no means yes, and yes means no. And sometimes means someone needs a visit from the Ether Bunny, but the understanding is you will get neither complaints or accolades.

But never said "I don't know" .... I've seen folks get stabbed when they use that insult with someone else's mother.

Goes without saying = you don't want to intermingle that wonderful smell of Acid cigars with the incredible grape flavor of your White Owl's!!!

She's more right than wrong. The mass produced cigars are almost always individually wrapped in cellophane and that will stop them from drying out in most cases. A fiver of Munimakers come in a box that is sealed in cellophane and once you open it, you really need to smoke those cigars fairly quickly in most cases, it depends on the relative humidity of where you are, they'll last a whole lot longer in the tropics than they will in the desert.

The man is ok at golf but has terrible taste in mistresses, I am also betting he doesn't know dick about cigars.

Oh, I don't know about that... He's been known to spend a lot of time with Sir Charles and Michael Jordan - both are well known cigar aficionado's. Something must have rubbed off...
