    Default Puro Pot Pass III

I am posting this to gauge interest in running another Puro Pot Pass. What's a Puro Pot Pass? The last time this was done, it was done here. The first time it was done, it was done here.

The rules, as proposed, are here:

The Object : Be able to guess the country of origin of a nude, puro cigar. A "puro" is a cigar where the wrapper, binder and filler are all from the same country.

The Prize : This will be a sort of "jackpot" style prize. Here's an example:

Player A: Will be me. I will start this off with a nude cigar and a prize pack of 3 sent to Player B

Player B: Guesses wrong. Has to send his prize pack and nude stick, plus an additional 3 to Player C (now 6 cigars)

Player C: Guesses wrong. Has to send his prize pack and nude stick, plus an additional 3 to Player D (now 9 cigars)

Player D: Guesses right. Keeps prize pack of 9, and then sends out nude stick and a new 3 pack to Player E.

Player E: As the last player, if he guesses right. He of course keeps the prize. But if he guesses wrong he must bomb an unsuspecting victim not associated with the game. Preferrably a n00b.

This is for everyone. Prize pack sticks are to be $3-5 and the nude cigar needs to be at least $5 and HAS to be a puro, meaning everything about it has to be from the country of origin. This will take some researching on your part. Check out CigarCyclopedia's Comparison Shopper for help, or other approved cigar pricing sites. If you have a question about the MSRP of a stick, post and ask. Don't assume. If you need help determining whether or not a cigar is a puro, ask. You can PM me or other board members who aren't playing if you'd like.

On top of a prize pack - everyone will receive an image award and must display it as their sig tag for one month from the day of receiving it. There will be a reward for guessing right - and one for guessing wrong. Do not alter your sig tag in any way for thirty days after posting - this means resizing or obstructing view in any way. I'll post an image gallery of all sig tags in an image gallery as the contest moves along.

There's no limit on how many or who can play. This is for newbs and FOGs alike. After everyone is done signing up, then I will arrange the order and get this party started. The only rule is that you can't be a total loser flake meathead asshat. You aren't allowed to play.

    What say you?

The pass will likely start the first week of February. I will start it out, and will choose the order (at random) and will post in this first post in this thread.

So, with EdgeMan (temporarily?) out of the pass, I'm up after Eville. And, as promised, you'll be able to make a sig tag for me. Go ahead and make it embarrassing - I don't care. Just make sure it's legal. I'm going to win, anyway, so all of this is a moot point........

For uniformity purposes, it would be cool if the style of the fonts and sizes were kept intact. I use a font called "Eight Track" for the title and the year, another font called "Pericles" for the country of origin, and another font called "Base 05" for the Winner/Loser title. "Eight Track" and "Base 05" are freely available at dafont.com - "Pericles" is a Windows font. If you want, I can e-mail this font to you.

For sizes, for vertical images, I've been going with sizes around 360px X 460 px. Horizontal tags are just opposite of that, but you know, they grow/shrink as the image allows. I do most of the work in PhotoShop.

I suppose, if you wanted me to, you could send me the photo you wanted, and I could make the tag myself......but I know that wouldn't be any fun. Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun at my expense!

Just got the pack a few minutes ago. The prize is at it's new, permanent home in my humidor along with the puro. I will likely knock this out later tonight if the weather holds out.

Edit: Almost forgot, mrtr33, I already have your puro and the new, 3-cigar prize pack boxed up and ready to go. Go ahead and PM me your addy and I will get that out first thing in the morning.
