    Default Nascar 2010

Any interest in doing this again this year? I'd just love to send out more smokes. Bud shootout is Feb 6th....Daytona 500 is Feb 14th. Same place, same rules as the previous 2 years.

I will have to sit this one out. Grad school is keeping me too busy.

Doesn't look like this will happen this year. Finally, I don't lose cigars during a Nascar season.

I just got the email from the site we use, looks like they changed their structure this year. Salary caps and you can use drivers multiple times.

I'd be willing to play if others are interested. I'll even put together a 5er of dog rockets for the leader after the first race (by leader I mean the person in 2nd place behind me ).

I used to like NASCAR a lot but lost interest 10 or so years ago. I thought the pool might help rekindle my interest, but it hasn't worked out that way.

I haven't been able to access that site for quite a while now - it doesn't work on my phone's browser and is blocked or something at work.

They've made some rule changes that should bring the racing back to what it was years ago....rubbin', bumpin' and bangin' will return. Should make for a fun season. Oh, they're also encouraging the drivers to show more emotion and personality.

    NASCAR's changed; I've changed; the world's changed.

Racing has always been a blood sport; they've been trying to cover that up in the name of 'family entertainment' for years now. Bring back the contact and drivers will die, because bio-physics hasn't changed. We'll see what happens.

As for emotion and personality, 1979 was a looong time ago!

Well, we'll just have to see I guess. Seems to me there are a few rivalries that would flare if the muzzles are taken off.

Shit, 1979 was indeed a long time ago......I was a teenager with a new learners permit. The chicks didn't stand a chance.

There are two muzzles - the sanctioning body's, and the sponsor's.
When I see/hear clips of drivers using colourful metaphors, then we'll be getting somewhere!

BTW, I have to confess that I had to look up the year of the Allison-Yarborough fight.

    Now that's NASCAR!

    Thumbs up

This Sunday is the Daytona 500. As Darrell Waltrip says it all the time, "Boogity Boogity Boogity, let's go racin' boys".........

I hope Dale Jr. in the #88 Amp / National Guard Chevrolet has a great race and a winning season this year!!!!

Dammit that was one long ass race........great finish over the last 30 laps or so. Looks like we may indeed return to trading some paint.

    Cool

It's good to see Dale Jr. in the #88 starting at the pole position. Hopefully he can win one soon and / or finish in the top 5 as well......

Well, I'll just say it's time for Jr. to do some driving.

It's good to see the RCR cars starting well this year. I think the competition for the chase will be outstanding this year. It's gonna take a little more than just finishing the races this year.

Another decent day for the RCR crew. Junior blew it as per the usual. Cousin Carl is gonna be in the time-out chair for a bit I suspect. Too bad the 12 got airborne......I doubt Carl would be in the trouble he's in if Kesselowski had just spun out and hit the wall. He did it on purpose, no doubt about it, but, again, without the flip, it would have been just another thing in racing I think.

Bristol in two weeks oughta be a good one.
