So do any of you drink fine tequila while smokeing cigars? I use to drink jose crappo (cuervo) gold had a couple bad experences and shunned it for ever. I was then about a year ago introduced to top shelf tequila made from 100% agave. I have on my bar right know Don Julio blanco, Don Julio Anejo (which is my favorite so far) Jose cuervo reserva de familia and reserva de familia platino. The two listed cuervo's are premimum and made of 100% agave unlike the gold. Im intrested in trying a cigar with a tequila based drink but it just makes me immagin a nasty taste. So any suggestions? What type of cigar would you smoke with tequila

O I do also have a bottle of the crappo gold but thats for my buddies that like slaming licking and sucking I can't do it. I will however use the crappo gold to mix drinks with but thats about as far as it goes. The smell gags me.

I enjoy tequila from time to time. If you like Don Julio (which I agree is pretty good) you will fall in love with Don Porfirio or Corralejo. I highly recommend those. If you ever get a chance to try tequila's "sweeter side", I recommend The Agavero. Its not really your basic tequila, but it is more like a liquoer (sorry for the spelling). All of these are much better when served chilled. Leave your bottles in the freezer, they'll be allright.

I personally don't like to drink tequila with a cigar. I find both way to enjoyable by themselves.

    Cheers man!

Yeah, I love good tequila! Don Julio is my favorite these days as well, the Anjeo and Repasado are typically in my cabinet. When I want to treat myself, I pick up a bottle of Don Julio 1942. Few bucks more, but very very smooth. They also make a "Real" I believe, thats stupid expensive and I have not yet tried it. One of these days!

Get out there and try stuff, and you will find there are good things about many different types. Sometimes BevMo and Total Wine near me will do a tequila tasting or get vendors in to do tastings. Those have proved to be enlightening as well.

I agree with Corralejo. One of my favorites.

Partida is one of the best tequila names in the business. The Partida family grows 90% of the agave in mexico, then they pick the finest for themselves and sell the rest to other tequila makers. When they are firing the agave before fermentation they use stainless steal ovens instead of clay to keep out and impurities. Also they open air ferment instead of adding yeast. The product is amazing. If you like fine tequila give them a try for sure!

In fact, I just picked up a bottle of Patron Anejo this afternoon. My wife said we needed Tequila. Who am I to argue?

    Don Julio 1942

Jose Cuervo Reserva de Familia Anejo - good stuff...

I have not been able to find it since I first had some a while back - but Suave Patria Anejo is very nice sipping tequila for the $$$

I'd also put El Jimador Anejo in the not too pricey, but very nice sipping tequila category.
