Smoke: Brickhouse ~ Toro
Drink(s): Homemade Yuengling Black & Tans
Tunes: Supertramp ~ Even in the Quietest of Moments
Wrapper: Ecuador
Binder: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Draw: Medium to light
Burn: Good
Misc: 90+ minutes run time
Pre-light: Medium brown Colorado shade wrapper. Nice construction. A little bumpy and veiny but I don’t know seems ok. Musty / musky tobacco scent. Not much prelight taste.
Light: Pretty easy. Medium to light draw.
1st 3rd: Sweet with a bitter ring aftertaste. Some leather and some of that mustiness in the prelight flavor. A mild spicy kick. Medium to full body with medium flavor. Some oily in there too, but basically a good straightforward smoke sofar.
Ash: Dark gray and medium gray. Tiny black speckles and perfectly layered. Holds on for about 1”
2nd 3rd: Straightforward smoke. Almost all the same flavors as mentioned above. Got a little crack in the wrapper, but not affecting anything. Sweet tobacco, musty ring. Bitter is gone now and the leather flavors are the most dominant now but not overpowering. Good.
3rd 3rd: Lots of the same. Flavors have died down at this point into more of a leathery ashy flavor. It is at it’s end now.
Overall impression: Good cigar. I can see this a welcomed standby, but there are other go-tos I’d prefer.
Thank you Mangyrat for sending me an additional toro to review!
