Seems like they've started the mandatory pre-World Cup injury spree...Rooney hurt yesterday, Fabregas today. Who's next?

20 hours from the start of World Cup! I can hardly contain myself. I guess not being in Honduras for such a long time has made my soccer "euphoria" mellow out a little bit. But today, I got to speak to some of my old buddies back home and we talked soccer for hours. The official world cup song is out already and here it is (man this girl is hot)

The I started thinking about the meaning this tournament has to me personally but more importantly what it means to the world. Its true, we have the olympics (summer and winter) and we have athletes compete from all over the world in different sports. That is the key word, different sports. I am sure there are a lot of sports that are played in many countries throughout the world, but I think the only sport that is guaranteed to be played all over the world is Futbol. Again, I am seeing this in a very respectful manner. I love sports in general; NBA, NFL, MLB mostly. But soccer is really where my heart is at. Browsing through the web, I think this commercial sums it up pretty well.

Nice opening game, I thought South Africa played above their skill level to score first and play Mexico to a draw.

I'm happy with USA's tie with England today. However they need to start working together better, if they want to advance after the group matches. Thankfully Howard is a wall. MVP of the match.

Argentina is always fun to watch. As for South Korea, all I can say is wow, what a game they played. They showed up to win.
