Happy Birthday!!! You, the prez and Nancy Reagan.

My favorite drink in a bar is Myers rum & coke.

Hey, here's something for ya, I found it in an old bartender's guide, it's a drink called a "Ward 8" is a whiskey sour with grenadine (make sure you use enough grenadine to make it RED). Now granted, a whiskey sour is something that MY parents' generation used to drink (my mother and father were born in the early 1920's) are are rarely ordered in bars nowadays. When my friends and I first started drinking in bars, we used to like to see if the bartenders even knew what a Ward 8 was and very few of them did.

Oh - since it's still your misspent youth phase and it is now LEGAL to drink, you gotta get the best bang for your buck... I'd suggest a Long Island Iced Tea - 1 shot each of Rum, Gin, Vodka, Triple Sec, Tequila with a splash of sweet and sour, and a bit of coke for coloring. Whatever you do, DO NOT DRIVE after you finish one!!! And do NOT drink any more than three if you don't want to feel the room spin and pray to the porcelin God!!!!

I was down in Miami this weekend (holiday business trips rock) and had a couple of Mojito's. I make them better myself. Got to use a lot of Lime!!!

    My Mojito Recipe:

    2 limes
    2.5 shots of rum
    Sprite
    2 teaspoons of sugar
    Fresh Mint to taste

Skin one of the limes and throw it in the blender, add rum, sprite, sugar, blend. I slice the second lime in half, juice half of it in the drink and mix, then I slice the other half for garnish along with the mint.

Thanks hex. I will definately try it out. I've had mint lemonade but I think I like the mojito better with rum :). I'm probably going to add the sprite after blending just to preserve some fizz. It was HOT this weekend.. nothing like a good mint citrus drink to cool ya down.
