Diesel Double Happiness

So...I bought a box of the Double Happiness cigars that CI is pushing, just for shits and giggles.

These things are HUGE.



I lit up at 8:35pm. It was spicy, with lots of black pepper for the first inch or so. The draw was kinda tight too, which may have been due to it's length, as it did get better.


I knocked the end of the cigar on my camera.


And then it started to burn unevenly, which was probably my camera's fault.



After I touched up the burn, it stayed even for the rest of my smoking experience.



The stick is starting to bulge through and behind the joint, and the wrapper at the joint is starting to unravel a bit.



The draw has loosened up considerably now, and the smoke is nice and dense.

The rest of the smoke was pretty uneventful. It smoked and handled just like a normal length cigar, which, I guess it is by now.

......and this thing is finally done at 11:27pm.


In conclusion, this was a pretty decent smoke, it reminded me of a 5Vegas Series A. Once I smoke all of these sticks, I'm sure I'll never buy them again, as they are definitely more of a novelty than anything else. I may even cut them in half and smoke them as normal sticks. Though, left whole, they are great for smoking during "quality time" spent watching chick flicks with your significant other.

I haven't smoked any of these until now, cause I couldn't find the time too. Well, last night, my GF was watching a chick flick on TV, so I figured this would be a great time to get one of these sticks smoked.

Nice photos. That was a unique and interesting experience, no doubt. It was a novel presentation and it was interesting to see your detailed photos of how the cigar appeared and behaved near the mid-point connection. It looked like they made a joint with a tobacco dowel rod and taped it with some rolling paper sealed with pectin based glue. They should have used a dovetail or a stub mortise and tenon joint… but that would require a cigarpenter.


Ahem… It also seems like you’re the kind of guy that will sit out on the patio all day chain smoking Presidentes to avoid watching chick flicks with your girl. Yeah, who could blame you? Keep up the good work!

That thing was massive and I can only imagine how long it took to get through!
