I don't confront newbs for pleasure, and I certainly don't try to be anonymous.
Yes, I will give you this and I never directed my comment at you in general. The newbie sampler was something I tried to participate in but to no avail. I have not said or done anything I won't take responsibility for. So what exactly is your point?

You don't like the fact that I said some of your "Cuban" cigars looked suspect? Get over it -- you have some bogus sticks in your collection.

For a board that has a strict policy in discussing ISOM's, you guys sure are bringing up my fakes quite a bit. I have not mentioned them since and will not mention them again.

You don't like the fact that I didn't appreciate the tone of your post when you pointed out that your definition of multi-tasking is different than mine (or, more accurately, Mizicke's as it relates to the iPad’s functionality)? Get over it -- you act like an ass-hat, I’m going to call you an ass-hat.

I actually posted about multi-tasking right after the Mizicke's post. So don't really see your point here either. Maybe you have a little bit of buyers remorse or something. Don't be taking it out on me that you got taken, not my issue. I simply stated that I would hold out for a better device that was more functional for business and not just a toy.

Again, I suggest you read the rules and regulations. This is a community -- some of your posts crossed the line with respect to what the community finds acceptable.
I went and read your coveted rules again. I did see the Newbie advice and there are punctuation errors and some other grammatical issues. This in a stickied post since 3/2006. You think that they would have been corrected by now. But maybe that is just how you all want to roll. I have not once crossed the line in respect to my posts. I don't make it a habit to start calling people names until they give me a reason to do so. Sorry if my posts hurt your feelings or something. I will try and refrain and only post things that will make you feel warm and fuzzy in the future.

I never said that I wanted to leave this board. I am actually having a great time. That barrel sounds cool. Does it come with the alcohol already in it or do you add it later? Again, maybe you all should follow the rules and stop mentioning the ISOM's. There is a very strict rule in regards to this from what I read.

WTF is up with "The Circle"? I never got the memo on that? Where can i get a pass to be in "The Circle" I think Ashauler is the leader of the circle I presume? Can you let me in? please?

Freakin baby...have your testicles dropped yet?
No, I believe the quote is a metaphor. But most on this board contrary to what they say don't understand such things. Maybe you are one of the people that has a harder time with these types of concepts. I for one have never asked another man if he was giving out blowjobs, but to each his own. I won't hold it against you. I am sure there is a strict "Don't ask don't tell" policy on this forum. I will state it again, I don't care if you like me or not.

I won't comment on your balls dropping comment because it might offend you and we don't want that.

The rules are already ours, we don't need to covet them. The only thing you respect is your own opinion.

I understand that they are your rules and I do follow them. At least those that I can read, you know with all the typos and bad grammar.
Your opinion matters to me too. Just not as much as you think it does to yourself. I would like to buy you for what you are worth and then turn around and sell you for what you think you are worth. Then I could retire and walk the earth like Cain.

I think you understand very little.

Speaking of spelling, your error in the spelling of Cain is really quite telling. lmao

Jamie, do you really call people out when you don't know what you are talking about? Both Caine and Cain are generally accepted spellings. Get a life douche.

Yes, you are correct, both are perfectly acceptable spellings.....for different people. Do you often use phrases when you don't know the meanings or origin of them?

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling that would be the case. My wife is a techno file and has been making noises about buying one. But she already has an iTouch, is getting a iPhone (from work) and has a netbook and two computers so I think I have a case for telling her no this time.......LOL

I wanted to post here for 3 reasons:

    1. Gotta get my post count up
    2. Wanted to subscribe to this thread so I could learn more about multi-tasking
    3. Wanted to show off my updated User Title

    Thumbs up

Seeing the heated discussion around this post I am a bit hesitant in responding to this as my first reply as a member on this board. However, with that being said, since I am new here I have no bias as to any of the posters since I don't know adam from sam.

Let me start with the background that I am a pc geek and have been in the IT field for nearly 15 years and have been a hardcore Windows advocate the whole time. That is up until a couple years ago when I got a Macbook for work and after the learning curve, I feel in love with it. I am not gung-ho that the Macbook is better than a Windows notebook, I just personally like it better at this time.

I also have an iPad, in fact both my wife and I each have one and we both also have iPhones. Most of our kids have an iTouch as well.

I love my iPad and do not regret getting it at all. It does serve a basic purpose of portability and convenience since I do not have to carry around my laptop. Yes, the iPad is an over sized iTouch but as I mentioned, it works for me. I can actually use my iPhone to remote into my home or work computer and although it isn't as efficient as doing it from another computer, you take it for what it is and fits the bill in the need arises. I also have it setup on my iPad to do remote administration as well. I mostly use the iPad for web browsing, ie. social networking, news, forums like this but I also use it for games and productivity. My wife is a network engineer and she has a bunch of network tools on hers that she can use in the office. With the exception of cellular activity, the iPad can do virtually anything the iPhone or iTouch can do. The upside is that when traveling, the iPad can be used to watch movies for about 10 hours which by far exceeds the duration on my Macbook.

As for the data plan, it is completely independent of your cellular plan and is quite flexible. I have the 3G/Wifi model and had it for several months before turning on the 3G. We took our daughter to Disneyland for her 7th birthday so we turned on the 3G ($15/250MB per month) and let her have at it in the car. When we get close to the 250mb, an alert will pop up and we have the option of turning off the 3G until next month, bumping up to the unlimited for $30 (technically only another $15) or just turning off the 3G so it will not auto renew. You can pretty much turn it off and on as your needs require it with no contract and no penalties.

Now here is the apparent sore spot with everyone, multi-tasking. To me, and this is just my idea of the term, multi-tasking is the ability to do multiple things at the same time. In that sense, the only thing that can be done at the same time, is to listen to music via the native iPod application while doing other things. This means that I can start a song, close the app and proceed to do other things like web browsing, writing a document or putting together a presentation or use almost any application while the music is playing. However, sometimes i prefer to listen to Pandora Radio and when I do, that is the only thing that I can do. If I close the app, the music stops. Yes, I can open a web page and copy some text, then go to notes and paste it in there and then go back to the same web page but your are essentially closing one app to get to the other which can be viewed as a form of multi-tasking as well. In either case, the point that I think was trying to be made initially is that the iPad/iPhone/iTouch do not allow background services. If it did, you could put Pandora Radio in the background while surfing the web via Safari. Alas, that is not the case with the product line and is a down side to some extent.

There is a caveat to that in my opinion, again, just my opinion, which also apply to why there aren't any expansions ports, or why the product lines are not open source, or why they do not support flash. I feel that if they were opened up for any vendor or designer to just do whatever they want to these devices, they wouldn't be as sound as they are. I suppose, that statement is more of my perception but it is my my opinion that the Apple products are far less flaky than most other OS based products.

I am not looking for a flame war or to continue the one that already exists in this thread. I am just providing some iPad insight to those who may not have had much experience with them. If you have your mind made up about Apple products, then this response wasn't really intended for you and I apologize if it seems as though I am stepping on anyone's personal opinion.

Buzz, I think it only works if you truly post whore it up by posting at least 3 times in a row.

It is funny that you guys are not even talking about the ipad any more. Is that a cigar in your mouth or are you just happy to see me, Cyrus?

Don't be going all smarty-pants about the mistakes in punctuation and grammar if you can't get the shit right yourself, douche.

Yep. No argument - it does appears, perhaps, you may be smart enough to understand and follow rules.

Oh - BTW - I do like that helmet you're sporting. Mom picked out some nice colors for you!
