Well my friends today was Helga's last day
of fun. I had to have her put down at 11:00 am
Pacific time. She had been struggling to hold her
back legs up, and with all the trouble she was
having with the potty issues it was just the right time
to do it. She was 19 years old and we had her about 12 years
of that time. That is going to be it for dogs for us for
a while. We are going to enjoy other peoples dogs and
sit for them when they are on vacation and such. I took the picture you
see above just before I brought her to the vet. She will be missed!
Fark it anyway! And yes she was good at farking.
Just another day at the office!

Sorry to hear of your loss, Roger.

Growing up, we never had pets, so I never understood that connection. My wife's family has always had cats, dogs, etc. Sure, I've had fish sporadically, but nothing I could tangibly pet and take care of. Then a stray we'd been feeding passed suddenly earlier this year, and I all of a sudden understood.....

I know how you feel. When I had to put my last dog down, I vowed I was done burying dogs.

Roger I am very sorry for your loss. My wife and I have had our dog, Mocca, since she was a baby 3 years ago when we were still dating. I cannot begin to imagine life without her. I feel your pain and offer my condolences to you and your family.

    RIP Helga.

That's a tough call to make, Roger. You were kind to care for her during all those good years. You are kind to let her go with dignity. My sympathies.

Thank you everyone for your kind replies... I really appreciate it. My Dad and my two dogs in the last year. It has been a hell of a year. Thanks again. Roger.

Sorry to hear that, you have my sympathy. We had to put down my childhood dog ~3 years ago. He was with us since I was around 4 years old, he lived to be 17.
    Yay! Cigars!

Roger, sorry to hear about your loss. I do know what it's like and will probably be feeling it soon enough myself. Of the 3 that I have, my husky which I've had since she was a pup, is 13 yrs old now and she's getting kinda hard of hearing and she's developed cataracts. They won't operate to remove them because of her age. She's actually still pretty active and would be even more so if she could see. It just breaks my heart when she runs into things or when I think of her no longer being around.
My! What a nice ash you have!

No matter where you go, there you are!
