    Default Illusione HL (Holy Lance)

Other's reviews (None found, searching the Reviews Forum)

    Smoke: Illusione ~ HL
    Drink: Dogfishead 60min IPA
    Tunes: SRV

    Wrapper: Honduran
    Binder: Honduran
    Filler: Honduran
    Draw: Medium
    Burn: Excellent
    Misc: 60+ minutes

Pre-light: Colorado Maduro shade wrapper. I dropped it on the carpet tonight, biffing up the foot a bit. The brown colors are a little splotchy on the wrapper. Nice construction with a pigtail cap. Faint sweet tobacco scent. Not much on the cut prelight flavor.

    Light: Easy. Medium draw.

1st 3rd: Spicy, but not overbearing. Leather and sweet tobacco flavors. Slight floral and earthy tones. Complex. Medium body and medium to full flavor. Must pace myself with this lancero. Some woodsy notes too.

Ash: Medium gray with blackish scaling mixed in. Holds on for over 1”

2nd 3rd: Creamy and spicy. Another one of these! Leaving a nice oily coating of flavor in my mouth. Sweet leathery tobacco notes. Woodsy. That…characteristic floral flavor in most illusions I’ve had. Very complex smoke. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of the lancero due to burn issues and required restriction of puffing, but this one defies those odds. Full flavor and perfect burn.

3rd 3rd: More oily now. Doing some purging in between here. Great flavors described above. Leather, oily, floral, woodsy, and sweet tobacco. Great smoke!

Overall impression: Impressive. Fivers or even a box is in order. I think the HL trumps the F9 & CG4 in my book.

Thank you denver24 for this awesome smoke (and my intro to the Illusione line)
