Default Looking for a 'spicy' cigar...

I remember 6 months back when I had my first opus x and it had an amazing spice to it. I mean spicy as in a warm heat in the back of my mouth. It was nothing I have experienced before and I've been chasing it ever since. I lot of reviews state a cigar is spicy but I find sometimes they are describing pepper, like that tingle you get on your tongue. I'm looking more for the after taste/heat you get from hot sauce. Am I sounding crazy or does this exist??

    Thanks in advance.

LOL. Hey, Will. Long time no talk.

It's called planning a wedding. Taking that big leap 10/10/10!!!!!!!

With work and all the wedding planning, I just haven't had time to go online on the boards, smoke with some local peeps, and go to the local shop (need to save the moola).

How's things on your end. Trust me, after October, I'll be back to my semi-post-whoring.

Congrats on the wedding! Things have been the usual on my end.

    /threadjack off

I'd recommend a Por Larranaga Cuban Grade. It's like someone described....a fireball, without the sweet aspect.

    Victor,

Sorry for the threadjack, but if you need some Opus Xs, I should have a couple boxes available.

Thanks for the suggestion, and congrats on the wedding Andrew! That's awesome news.

I would smoke another opus if they weren't so rare/pricey north of the border. I may pick up a few online later on. I found the King B having that similar spice I'm looking for, probably because they share the same wrapper. Any other rosado wrapped cigars out there with a price I can afford to smoke more often?

When I saw the title of this thread, that was my first thought too.

The smaller ring gauge Opus X pack more of a punch than the bigger ones.

You want "spicy" then smoke a #4 or #5.

That was my other thought too.

I only smoke those and the small ring Opus X on a full stomach.

Try the Joya de Nicaragua Antano Dark Corojo. In the mega review 2 we did a review of them. The link is here. These were a good, spicy smoke that I really enjoyed. I actually always keep a few sticks of these in the humidor now. I got a 5 pack the other day from the devil site for around $16.

Awesome reviews! Thanks, I'll try and hunt down a sampler of those and give them a try.

The problem here is that different people define/interpret tastes diferently. That makes it a bit tough to figure your particular interpretation of spicy vs peppery based on one cigar. However, since I am a wild and crazy guy, I'll take a shot and say try an El Cobre by Oliva.
