    Default Newbie intro

Howdy all. Just wanted to introduce myself. I live in western Montana, outside of Missoula. Never smoked cigs but always like the smell of cigars and pipes. Decided to try a few cigars and have enjoyed them so far. I have been dipping Copenhagen snuff since I was 11, it's a habit I cannot break. I have been a mechanic on heavy lift helicopters for the past 21 years. I work all over the world on contruction, firefighting, logging and seismic jobs. Currently in Washington state on a logging job. I work 2 weeks on and then get 2 weeks off if working in the U.S. If outside we go to a 3 and 3. Free time is lots of honey-do's, hunting, fishing, and seeing the grandkids. Spend alot of time in Idaho, we have 40 acres in the foothills of the Danskin Mts. Plan to retire there in a few more years.
So far the only really great tasting cigar I have smoked was a Casa Magna. Just bought a humidor from a local B and M and got a sampler coming from C.I. Don't be too rough on me but so far my everyday smoke is Backwoods Honey. Look forward to learning more about my new hobby from all you old hands.
    Take care, Craig

Welcome from MT, the eastern side.

Try the newbie sampler. There are some good sponsors going who'll line you up with some great cigars for you to try.

Welcome from Eastern Washington State! Stick around, as the folks here are an awesome bunch. Went from being a noob here to considering this kind of like home, if you can apply that statement to a website.

By the time this is over, you will probably try more cigars than you ever imagined possible.

Thanks everyone. I will try to read more than I post so I don't look like some bonehead. I can't wait to get home from this tour, my wife told me my C.I. order came in.

cinda, we work 7 days a week, all year, except Christmas to New Years day. In the summer the mechanics can put more than 200 hrs on the clock in 14 days to keep the aircraft up and flying. In the winter we work in temps down to minus 10f. We do all of our maintenance out in the field, I see the hangar maybe every 4-5 years. My job sounds fun and my schedual looks real good but we need most of our time off to recouperate.
    Take care of yourselves.

    Welcome from W. Tennessee!

Man 40 acres in the foothills sounds like a great place to kick back and relax and have some good smokes. Tell the wifey to get them sticks into your humi and have them rested up for you when you get home.
My! What a nice ash you have!

Very nice intro, welcome from NW PA.
I second the newbie sampler, you won't regret it.

I think you are going to find that this is a great group of folks.

Welcome to the board from AZ.

The Sampler from C.I. may be ok but you will not get a better deal than the Newbie Sampler from the veteran's here.

    Check it out HERE

As a n00b that recently engaged in the opportunity, the variety I got for what I paid was freaking awesome and couldn't have asked for a better lot of smokes. Well worth it.
