Post MEGA Review III Signup & Voting

Alright fellas, the dust has settled and the nightmares I was having (involving Mangyrat) have ceased…
    time for MEGA Review III!

So, one of our esteemed members offered up the suggestion of having the review series be done on a single manufacturer, using cigars varying in prices. Just a second…

Ok, here we go (read in a girly voice):

Quote Originally Posted by ashauler View Post

    MBIII
    Serie O-G-or S
FdO's...either originals, or the other varieties.
Add in the myriad other products that Oliva makes for others and you have a crap-load of cigars in a wide range of prices. Even if you stick to only Oliva labeled cigars....pretty nice $$ range of sticks.

This could be done for a heck of a lot of brands. LaAurora.....Fuente......Camacho....Tat.....Padron ....etc.

Anyway, I thought it would be interesting.
    (back to manly voice)

Let’s give it a shot - here are the steps:

    1. Respond in this thread and state what your vote is for the manufacturer including the specific cigars and their approx. prices
    2. Registration is closed after 1 week or 15 participants
    3. Votes are tallied and the manufacturer determined (as well as specific cigars)
    4. Prices are determined and list of review options is posted (alfa, bravo, charlie, etc.)
    5. Once you decide which option you want, payment is sent to me
    6. Once I receive your payment, I send you your review cigars (this time with the DC #s)
    7. Let the cigars rest in your humi for a week or so, take precautions to avoid crazy ex-girlfriend issues
    8. Fire em up and burn em down (one at a time), take pictures if you can
    9. Submit your review (I will PM you the link for the online review form)

    And here are the rules:

    1. No Kinky Friedman cigars
    2. You need to be a participating member in good standing, there is no minimum post count, but I will defer to the FOGs for questionable participants
    3. Payment must be received before I send your sticks - unless I know you... intimately
    4. Freebies will be distributed fairly or if the math doesn’t work out evenly, they will be randomly sent to participants (I won't keep freebies for myself)
    5. Follow the timeline (will be posted once determined)
    6. You MUST participate in the contest (see below)

    But wait, there's more:

Ok, let’s do a little side-contest. The winner will receive a buzz sampler, which may or may not include a Kinky. Each participant MUST submit a cigar-related drawing, sketch, photo, painting, sculpture, rendering, or anything else that is artsy fartsy. Create your masterpiece, then scan it or take a picture of it and send it to me. I’ll create a forum-wide poll for “Most Interesting Cigar Artwork”.

This is your chance to show off your skills (or lack there of). And I don’t want to hear any pansy excuses of “I’m not an artist, wah wah” – if you want to be in the MEGA Review, you need to man-up, borrow your daughter's paintbrush set or modeling clay and get to work. I mean, come on – it’s just a stick with some squiggly lines coming from one end. It doesn’t have to be good, but it does have to be created by you. Artwork submissions must be PM’d to me by the end of the reviews (will show on timeline).

Now, I’ll be out of town from Aug 25 – Sept 3, so depending on how fast we decide on the manufacturer you will receive your sticks before Aug 25 or after Sept 3.

    This should be excruciatingly fun!

    Buzz,

I'm in again. And since I haven't had the chance to experience much of the Camacho line, I'll go with what you picked for my vote.

I've never played before, but going in one family is intriguing...sign me up!

I'd submit the Torano line for consideration (all prices from caminoviejo.com)

    Tribute 2004 Churchill (7x50)--$10.00
    Virtuoso Maestro (7 x 50)--$5.20
Exodus 1959 Gold Double Corona (7X50)--$4.66
    Cameroon 1916 Churchill (7 x 48)--$4.64
    Nicaragua Selection Churchill (7 x 48)--$3.32
    Dominicos Churchill (7 x 48)--$2.85

I tried to keep sizes as close as possible for pricing purposes, but whatever size would be fine.

    Ashton ESG ~ 21yr (Robusto) :14 bucksish
    Ashton Aged Maduro :6ish
Arturo Fuente Chateau Fuente Sun Grown : 4ish
Arturo Fuente Hemmingway ~ Work of Art : 8ish

Another member asked me to join this one, and now that I have permission from the Lady of the House (who happens to be a red), I'm game.

Partial to Fuentes, so that's where my vote would go, but truthfully, willing to try about anything once. Besides, even have an idea for the side-contest...are shopped photos acceptable?
