    Default Advice needed

So the doctor's verdict came in a few months ago: Quit smoking. I did, and now I'm confronted with having to get rid of my cigar collection. I haven't posted here in forever, but I thought I might come here and get an idea on how to sell my collection and for how much. My inclination is to sell locally, as I would like to get rid of them as quickly as possible (winter is basically smoking season here in south florida, and I don't think I can have these here by the time the weather starts cooling). My inventory is as follows:

    Fuente Opus X:
    3 Double Coronas
3 Corona-Sized, wrapped in cedar (can't remember name)
    1 Robusto
    1 XXX

    Padron Anniversary 1964:
    3 different sizes

    Fuente God of Fire:
    2 2005 by Don Carlos

    Tatuaje:
    2 Cojonu 2003
    1 Cojonu 2006

    Gurkha:
    5 Titan

    Romeo y Julieta (Cuban)
    17 Churchills

    Montecristo (Cuban)
    7 Edmundo
    1 No 2

    Cohiba (Cuban)
    12 Robustos
    7 Siglo VI

    Partagas (Cuban):
    8 Serie P No 2
    3 Serie D No 4

    Bolivar (Cuban):
    4 Royal Coronas
    4 Belicosos Finos
    19 Coronas Gigantes

    Hoyo De Monterrey (Non Cuban)
    1 Excalibur

I'm sure I'm missing a few smokes there, but that's a rough estimate of what I have. I'm also selling my humidors; 1 plain black with room for 50 sticks where I kept my daily smokes, one medium sized with room for 120 sticks and my baby, a large one-of-a-kind Romeo Y Julieta engraved humidor with room for 300+ sticks with digital hygrometer and 4 humidifiers.

All cigars have been aged for at least 2 years, with the exception of the Bolivar Coronas, which were purchased in 2008, but were rolled in 2005. I haven't really been in the cigar fever for a while and I'm quite out of the loop as far as prices go and what not. All cubans are real, brought into the States by myself from various countries, always purchased by the box. How much can I get for them? Where can I sell them? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Piss off Ruben...You should have edited the part where you "haven't posted here in forever." Kind of a give away that you are just trying to sell, not find out about sale prices.
Also, Cuban cigars are illegal in the United States. No one on this board (excepting our Canadian brethren) smoke them.

Whoa! Why the hostility? I only said "I haven't posted here in forever" because I registered for this site in 2007, I naturally assumed I had posted here before; I obviously didn't and clearly know no one here. Anyway, I'm certainly not trying to sell anything here, I just wanted to have an idea of what the collection is worth before I go to my local B&M and try to sell the thing so I don't get raped. I'd still appreciate some help if anyone wants to give it...

Didn't you pay for the cigars? Here, that is what they are worth.

I have no idea what you could successfully mark them up to since profiting off fellow members isn't my bag. Do your own research.

There are sites on the net specifically designed for people to sell and trade their own cigars, unfortunately for you, this isn't one of them.

Well that's the problem. And that's why I'm seeking advice from this board. How can I sell my cuban collection? I can't exactly craiglist it... And I'm not looking to mark up anything, I just want to get rid of the cigars quickly without having to take too big of a loss, that's all. I still don't get the hostility.

What YOU know they're worth, and what you can get for 'em are two different things!

I bid $23.97 - and you throw in the shipping!

Trust me, you haven't seen hostile.
Why don't you read the rules of the forum...specifically the one referring to those pesky kooban cigars. No one here is going to assist you in breaking the law.

If they were REAL kooban cigars, that is...

No breaking the law if they're fake - I stand by my bid!

Why bother us here? If you fess up to the rules on the board you will stop pretending you are being legit. If you really have been directed to stop smoking and you live in south florida, then I am sure you have many smoking friends who would accomidate you. Perhaps the best thing you could do is to package them up and distribute them to your friends. I am sure they would thank you and appreciate your thoughtfulness. That would be more rewarding than selling them!

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Because you have no history on the board you won't sell them here or any reputable board. So try Puff.com.

Best bet is to sell on craigslist or via a board like puff.com and sell to someone local who can inspect what you have.

In fact, I would start with that you want to do this local so whomever is buying can inspect and be satisfied.

I'd say 500 for the lot but be prepared to take 400.

Humidors loose value faster than cars and any cuban bought in a sale like this can be presumed fake.

I don't know about you but if i had to stop smoking cigars i would take my stash to my favorite local shop and have a humidor thinning party.

At the end of the day i would give away the humidors to who ever needed them the most.

Your not going to get much out of them any way.

You know, the more I think about it the more I'm tempted to do just that. Thing is though, I stopped smoking about 5 months ago, and even then I only smoked cigarrettes and haven't really smoked cigars for the better part of two years. The real kicker is that now that I've gone over them, inspected them and taken inventory they are calling to me like never before Why does everything good in life screw your health up? I think I'll end up doing what was suggested and just go to my local B&M, talk to the owner, try to get him to remember me and to buy as much of my stuff as I can get him to. The rest, he can give away to customers. I just can't have these things around anymore...
