    Default Make your own pipe

I was just surfing around, and found this site:

    http://www.briarblocks.com/pipes/

I thought it was cool to see how, what, where they get the briar wood for pipes.

Yeah, You can get a nice pipe for the cost of a piece without the work.

Unless you have a killer source for briar, you really won't save any money. Add to that the difficulty of briar to work, making your own can be a cool conversation piece but far more of a pain in the ass than it's worth.

**Disclaimer: My bench still has a half done pipe on it from June **

Yeah, I have no intention of making my own pipe....ever. I just thought it was a cool read about the source & manufacture of the raw briar.

I'd like to try it sometime but I'm no woodworker so I need to get some really cheap pieces to destroy before I stumble into making something usable.
