May God grant us the wisdom to discover right, the will to
choose it, and the strength
to make it endure
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields
Do draft dodgers have reunions? And if so what do they talk about?
Doc
Thanks to all who served and still do.

Been so busy the last several days that I haven't had the chance to get on here.
So, to all my Marine brothers & sisters, happy 235th belated birthday.

Semper Fi!
Also, to all Veterans of all branches, thank you for your service, my respects to you from one Vet to another.
My! What a nice ash you have!
No matter where you go, there you are!
My annual hunting trip is always the first two weeks in November so I'm a little late in expressing my feelings about those who have served, those who are serving presently, and those who will in the future.
I have an older brother who's a Major in our Canadian forces. My younger brother is a Warrant Officer in our reserves (and a police officer fulltime) and my stepson is a proud member of the USMC presently serving in Afghanistan so Veterans Day/Rememberance Day has a lot of meaning for me.
To those who have served and are serving, you have my utmost respect. My prayers are with you all and special one goes off to my stepson that he may return safe and sound and in time to be there when his first child is born.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
