Thread: Cigar Gift Ideas?

  1. Default Cigar Gift Ideas?

I'm working on buying some cigar gifts for a buddy of mine and just wondered what you all have liked getting the most. He's got a ton of cigars so I think I'm going to skip over the obvious and maybe get him a cool lighter, case, or other accessory. Any opinions are welcome. Also, I've got a coupon I'm going to use at the store I linked above, so if you see anything cool there let me know.

Not looking at the link, but the best gift I've ever given anyone is the opportunity to not do business with Thompson Cigars.

Isn't a gift something personal from one person to another?

Is there ANYTHING newbs can do by themselves?

Perhaps I was harsh. If someone was getting me something cigar-related, I would expect nothing less than this.

....or something practical, like beads. A cigar I personally would enjoy. A nice cutter. A bottle of late bottle vintage (LBV) Port.

If your dead set on using Thompson please don't give them your friends phone number as a contact.
They will call him every week wanting to sell him something.

    Mark's not being too harsh.

Ok Sam Tushing, I'm going to lay it out simple here.

You post a LINK to Thompson almost every time you post. Please stop. We all hate Thompson, and don't want some other noob to think it's ok to purchase from them.

    Is that clear enough?

Thanks for the tips - Sorry if I've been over the top with Thompson..it's just the site I'm most familiar with. I'll be sure to tone it down and branch out if I need a reference point.

At the same time I did explain the situation...I'm trying to use up the rest of a gift thing I've got and thought if someone saw something they'd recommend there I might grab it.

    Thanks again for the tips

I'd try to stick with samplers if you gotta use that retailer. Sometimes they have decent deals on those, but the boxes/5 packs etc...of most major lines are way overpriced compared to other retailers. Oh, and stay away from their private label brands. YMMV.

And yeah, please lay off the links.

How about a nice guillotine cutter or maybe a quality punch?

Get him a stinky ashtray and a cool lighter. an otterbox would be a stellar gift as well.
