No. You smoked a '64 Anny Padron Corona - Natural, a Nicaraguan cigar.

But relax, I don't know of any other pregnant men, leather-clad models with an affection for chains, or gorillas in lingerie. You're relatively safe......

Damn oh well. After posting, I read through some old posts and saw that WinstonSpencer had a similar review and guessed Cuban, only for it to be Nicaraguan, so I had a feeling.

Thanks for the smoke. It was nice. And my first Padron. Do you still have the band?

I'll pass on mrtr's puts and mine tomorrow.

Tracking says the package is out for delivery. Good luck EGQ!

And to test my loser tag.... Thanks Mark, I kinda like it (except the big LOSER part). The best part is that it looks like the guy's about to burn his lips on that 'gar.

Sorry for the 'not-as-offensive' sig tags this year. I kinda wasn't planning on doing this in the first place, so I didn't have time to properly prepare. These have been made on the fly.

So the plan was to smoke the puro on my commute into the office this morning. Things started out smoothly -- a nice looking robusto was cut and lit when the phone started going off. I got stuck dealing with clients when I should have been focussing on the puro...

It smoked nicely -- definitely on the mild side, nice woodsy flavor -- and the construction was very good. I'm going to rule out Cuban and Nicaraguan quickly, but I'm having a tough time picking the winner here... I guess I'll go with Dominican.

The puro you smoked was quite possibly one of the purest puros of modern times. It was a Plasencia Reserva Organica Robusto, which, unfortunately for you, was grown and rolled in separate fields and facilities at Plasencia's farm and factory in Nicaragua.

While I'm unconvinced that growing tobacco organically produces a "better" quality smoke, I can say without a doubt that it is no easy feat to grow and process tobacco organically.

How hard -> http://www.smokeshopmag.com/1201/trend.htm (FYI, the article is out of date, as there were eventually two organic farms - although I don't know if the tobacco is still in production, as only Famous carries the cigars currently.)

I've got five left from the 2001 crop (one farm, single seed (criollo), rolled in 2006 IIRC). IMHO, they didn't start smoking well until last year. Up until then, they smoked liked the early reviews - okay for the first inch or so, and then bland and one-dimensional. Now they literally do have a taste unlike any other cigar that I've had, and are finally 'worth' the price I paid for them.

craig, thanks for posting that link; I hadn't seen that from previous research on the cigar.

The PRO definitely needs some humidor time. I bought a box almost a year ago and the first couple were pretty blah. I started noticing them improving over the months. I think the last one I had was in April and it was much better than before, but I feel it has more potential.

I bought a 5-pack that was a good deal on the Monster recently to keep a good stock on-hand for friends, but the one I submitted for the PPP was from the original box.
