Took out Ashton from humidor that is always at 71/72 humidty.
Left in car for couple hours. Lit up and it was cracking all over.
How do I prevent this from happening?

It probably was more moist than you thought, or depending on where you live, there was too drastic a swing in the burning temperature of the cigar itself, and the ambient temperature around the cigar.

I had a CAO Soprano poppy de popped open a few weeks ago, came out of a large Humidor that is at 66-67rh. Never happened to another cigar. No explination. Sometimes it just happens.
