A formal apology...

[8-5-8]

Being a FNG, I know my opinion doesn't amount to much, but this is plain ridiculous. When I first arrived here I made the mistake of having respect for CC because of his high post count and the info and advice he had to give. And over the past few weeks it seems all he has done is follow Scotty around and post demeaning bullshit after any comment Scott makes. And then he feels vindicated because half a dozen people agree with him. Well I don't. I enjoy having people on the board who actually have POSITIVE things to say, regardless of whether they are cigar-related or not. AFAIK Scott's off topic posts are mainly limited to the general discussion forum. While CC may not like any posts made about things other than cigars, I don't recall reading a sticky proclaiming CC as king of the board. I enjoy having continuing discussions about all subject matter on this board, and that requires people who post things that they find intersting for us to discuss, or maybe even a rant about a bad day at work. Honestly at this point CC is falling into the same category as PB did, mainly because it's become annoying to have every single thread littered with childish crap.

CC, you need a new hobby bro, or maybe just a fucking JOB to occupy your time. Hell, maybe you just need to get laid and you'd be in a better mood. Personally, I'm not far from sticking you on my ignore list so I can browse the forums in peace.

Now it seems I have stepped on some toes here and made some enemies that I care not to have. So it has become apparent that I need to apologize to CC for my remarks about his sex life and employment status.

CC, you seem to have much history on this board an the others, and I was a bit premature in stepping into the middle of an ongoing dispute without knowing all the facts. I was wrong, and you guys that called me on it were right to do so. If the shoe was on the other foot I would have done the same. Now the above comment was not the only instance where I have said things that were not appropriate given the ongoing situation, and I wish to apologize for those comments as well. It was never my intention to piss anyone off, though I did. I cannot turn back the clock, which is why I leave those comments intact for the world to see. I can only hope that we can let bygones be bygones and carry on. I don't like feeling like an outsider and I have gone a long way to alienate myself from the FOG's here, which is something nobody wants to do.

So again, I'm sorry for what I have said CC, didn't mean to piss you off so badly. And to anyone else who may have been rubbed the wrong way by my statements, I apologize as well.

Now while this entire post may be viewed as "damage control" as one BOTL put it, I am entirely sincere in my efforts to rectify the situation at hand. I only wish to be a part of this community without being a nuisance or a habitual fire starter, and I can only hope for forgiveness.

Sometimes it's best to sit back and observe before forming opinions. Posting that as a relative noob like me certainly was a rash decision. This stuff seems to go back a loooooooonnnnnngggggg way. To other boards and other times. One thing is for certain. There is a lot of bad history between these guys and no amount of posting by anyone is going to rectify it. I don't think I'll ever know enough to judge it one way or the other. Perhaps, after a time, they'll find peaceful coexistence. Until then, I'd try and stay out of the middle.

I'm sure it's not for no reason at all CC. This kind of animosity takes a lot of feeding, and a long time to grow. Frankly, I've never seen anything like it before. If there's something to be done about it for either side, it's the moderators responsibility IMO. Until the time comes that things are mitigated, forgotten, or resolved, my advice to the uninvolved is to keep their hand out of the hornet's nest. You know what I mean?
