Thread: Swiss Army Knife with a cigar cutter

  1. Default Swiss Army Knife with a cigar cutter

I have a barely used Swiss Army Knife with a cigar cutter...I've got $30 dollars in it. Looking to trade it for almost anything...pipe tobacco, snuff, a nice inexpensive pipe, bottle of rum, good beer...Hell almost anything. I never use it. LMK guys...I ain't picky. It is a Wenger brand.

The Wenger sak with cigar cutter is in my opinion the best cigar cutter ever. So, of course, they don't make them anymore. I've had mine for years and cut at least a few thousand cigars with it. It still as sharp as the day I bought it, or so it seems. If you don't already own a quality cutter, get this one, for $30, it's a steal. Besides, you can open your expensive micro-brews with it and if you fugg up and buy a bottle of wine with a cork, you can open it too.

    Two questions for you.

    1) How do you feel about trading it for cash?

    and

    2) Would you be willing to ship it to Canada? (at my expense of course)

I don't really have anything cool, unique or interesting to trade for it, but I'd pay cash most definitely.

I'd prefer to keep it in the US...I have had bad luck shipping to Canada.

    LOL

CptnBlues, the Wenger 16881 (has more stuff) is still made, and was stocked by MEC (in stores only) - at least a couple years ago it was.

Yeah, the last time Sarge tried to ship deadly weapons to us Canadians up here, it got pretty messy.

Thanks for the info Craig I did some quick searching and I think I found it for a decent price here in Canada so I'll likely order one fairly quickly.

A pocket knife is always handy, a Swiss made pocket knife that has a cigar cutter can only be more so!

Keep in mind, this is not a guillotine cutter. It's a scissors and requires learning the circumcision technique of cutting a cigar. Place the cap in the cutter. squeeze to barely cut the cap and turn the cigar 180 degrees. Lift off the cap and smoke away. There's a learning curve, but you'll figure it out.

It's one of the best cutters I ever used...I got a couple in a group buy at another forum In 04 or 05. I'm keeping one that I never took out of the box for my Swiss Army Knife collection.

Thanks for that info Doc, I bought a Laguiole cutter a few years back and have butchered every cigar I tried to cut with it. I just took the scissors and started chomping

MEC doesn't stock that particular Wenger with the cigar cutter but does have several others.

My searches for it for sale in Canada have yielded nothing *sigh*

But, I did email a couple US web sites to see if they'd ship to Canada (amazon.com has them but doesn't ship to Canada and it isn't available on amazon.ca). If I don't hear any positive responses by Friday, I'm just going to order it and have it shipped to my sister-in-law's house in North Idaho as I'll be there June 13th and can pick it up then.

I really need a decent pocket knife and if I get this particular one, I'll always have a cutter with me so I'm definitely going to get one.

Thanks for the tip on using it Devil Doc that'll come in handy once I get one and go to use it. I'd much rather not make a mess of any cigars!

I'm working on a deal with someone...It may not work out. I'd be glad to ship to you sister-in-laws house if the deal I'm working on falls through.

In that case, I will most definitely take it if the other person doesn't!

    Thank you!

The knife was waiting for me when I arrived on the 6th and it works great too!

    LOL

Thanks a bunch, I appreciate this a lot. Now I have a pocket knife again and I'll always have a cutter handy.
