Thread: Intro, question and thanks.

    Default Intro, question and thanks.

My name is Jon and I'm out of Minneapolis, MN. I'm new to cigars (2yrs) and have enjoyed Ashton's, H. Upmann's and Padron's.

After poaching from friends, I decided to get my own humidor and sticks. I have worn out the search feature here and you all are a wealth of info! I am totally sold on the Heartfelt product and have an order waiting for their return.

My dumb questions surround the amount of beads in the humidor. I have looked at their site and used the calculator but I am concerned about our dry dry winters. I have read here that more beads are okay but can I actually put too many beads in the humidor? Pretty sure the inside of the humidor is ~1000 cu in.. If I put a full 1/2lb of beads in will it over humidify or just retain the moisture longer (and keep fluctuations down)? Is that overkill?

Thanks for the info already learned and for any future info!

    You're ok with more beads.

The only time you have to worry about too many beads is when they start cutting in to your cigar capacity.

    Welcome Brother!

What my personal findings are with the beads is the more you have helps with the recovery time. Meaning when you open your humidor and then close it it comes back up to RH quicker.
