Default My Father Le Bijou 1922 ~ Toro

Smoke: My Father Le Bijou 1922 ~ Toro
    Drink: H20
    Tunes: None

    Wrapper: Nicaragua
    Binder: Nicaragua
    Filler: Nicaragua
    Draw: Excellent
    Burn: Great
Misc: Went for over an hour

Pre-light: Maduro shade wrapper. Has a pretzel like texture. Great construction. Musty sweet tobacco scent. Spicy tobacco on the cut prelight taste. Crazy, but decorative band that covers 1/3 of the cigar.

    Light: Easy. Excellent draw.

1st 3rd: Spice. Sweet tobacco and leather. Medium to full body. Some woodsy notes, and a bit toothy, but not overpowering.

Ash: Good structure. Light gray and holds on for over 1”

    (No Ash Pic)

2nd 3rd: Woodsy and nutty. Spice has mellowed a bit, but still keeps it a bit toothy. Some oil now too, and sweet, semi sweet chocolate tobacco flavor. Pretty good.

3rd 3rd: Same. More full body now. Oily, woodsy, sweet tobacco, and semi-sweet chocolate flavors.

Overall impression: I would get a 5er or so. Better, much better than the regular My Father line, IMHO.

Thanks for the review. I enjoy these much more than the regular My Father line like you said. I'd be interested to see what your thoughts are on the petite robusto.

Do they make a petite robusto in this cigar?

You'd think, with all of the music options in the world......

Thanks for the review Will........I'm in the process of getting 10 of these. I look forward to smoking them!

Great review, I always have a couple in my humidor! I tried these before the My Father line and when I went and tried that I was a little disappointed!

Old thread I know- but I was pretty close to trying out a sampler of the regular MF line so I have to ask: what about these made you guys enjoy them more than the regular line? Thinking maybe I skip those and jump right to these instead...

    Reviews are never old

Actually, now that I've had the lancero in the regular "my father" line, it's kinda a toss up for me. I think the '22s are a little stronger flavorwise. More leather / oil.

Ah...I gotcha. Thanks for the info and reviews. They really help out with new purchases...

Maybe I should just flip a coin to decide or (to my wife's annoyance) buy both samplers...

I prefer the 22's just a bit more then the regular MF line.

Great review, BW. I can't do anything but second your review and say that my experience mirrors what you described, although I can't yet articulate it the way you did.
