Beer Faucet

Any of you beer heads have a recommendation for a new faucet for me? I'm looking at the Perlick forward sealing one

Sounds gimmicky to me. I have no experience with beer faucets.

I have Perlick 525SS's on mine and they are definitely worth the extra dollars. The forward sealing design keeps them from sticking if you go awhile without pulling a beer, something that the cheaper taps will have happen from time to time. I've read numerous stories of rear sealing taps that get so stuck they actually break. Hope this helps...


Edit: Just saw the link you posted and I would say that's a good price. I was going to recommend www.austinhomebrew.com but Beverage Factory has them beat on price. I'd say go for it, you won't be disappointed.

This was from a while ago so it may be to late but, I would go with the Pelick 525ss. It is a great faucet. I have the brass look. They are better than rear seated faucets and are a lot more cleaner if you have longer times between pours.

Agree Perlicks are the ones to go with. I bought a few from these guys but the price has since come up a bit now $32.50. When got mine ~ 8 months ago they were $25. They offer a chrome version for less $ but I would stick with the SS.
The creamer isn't necessary you can put a nice head on the pour with the 525.

I did this the other week, and have been running the 525SS since last weekend. Works great. Nice crisp action, and is more forgiving to the pourer than my old beast.

I'm still keeping that one, but I took it apart, and it literally had about 25 pieces. Technically looking at it, it's a forward seal design too. Maybe I'll have 2 running someday.

Only thing I regret at this point is getting the combo 4 3/8" shank with it. I didn't research enough to know that's the nominal dimension. Once you put the black plastic lip thing on, and screw on the fitting inside, you lose dimension. I should have gone with something upwards of 5" to get through the wall of the fridge. Ah well, it works.

I got it on Amazon as a 2 piece deal. Ultimately, it was from beveragefactory, so they'd probably swap it out, but I don't care that much. I'm basically where I've been at for years with the old faucet. That one had a all in one shank / faucet design. It just pulls the walls of the fridge together a little.
