What do you usually have it set at if I might ask?
That looks like a pretty awesome unit. I've been running the Avallo Accumonitor for almost 5 years flawlessy and have really enjoyed it. How long has the Hydra been out? Looks like a pretty new unit. And by LG? That's awesome.

It isn't by LG. The 'LG' is the "large" model, and the 'SM' is the "small" model. :-) I have the small model.
Hydra's are less expensive alternatives to Cigar Oasis. Not as good quality in my experience, but YMMV. Avallo is in a different league entirely.
The RH meter in my Hydras are way off, and I'm not the only one who has experienced this. In my case, a 70% reading on the Hydra actually cuts its fan at 78%RH.
I only use the Hydra's in the display humidor (lots of air space and open trays means rapid humidification is needed, along with bead sheet). Coolers and other humi's use beads, bead sheets, and kitty litter.
I like to keep the RH between 65% and 70%.
I found out the hard way a couple months back myself the Hyrda's reset on a power outage. I check my humi every day (it has a glass top) to make sure the RH is consistent (OK OK I admit it, I like to look at them and smell them too.......LOL) so I noticed right off. I'm sure glad it didn't happen while I was away on vacation for two weeks! I never thought to post that info in here though.........dope that I am! Thanks Craig.
I bought a Hydra SM for the 500 count display type humi my wife bought me for last x'mas. I too found the hygrometer on it is way off and since I have two good digital hygro's in there, I use them and adjust the Hyrda's settings to match what I want. I believe I have my hydra set to about 72.4% and that holds it consistently at 65% RH (actual). Other than that, I find the Hyrda works quite well and the low water warning is loud enough you can't miss it, even with my hearing........LOL
Oh, while I have your attention Craig, I tried to reply to your PM but your box is full.............................lol

I cleaned the PM's out. (My, ah, e-mail was full too ...)
I do too!
I've been trying to figure out a way to get rid of the "Send Personal Message" link in my profile but I haven't found one yet, LMAO!
Keeping my inbox full all the time essentially accomplishes the same thing though I guess....
BTW Will, you're not allowed to post in this thread, it's for us Canada guys only, got it?![]()
