    Default Back from Pinetop

So the wifey and I went up to Pinetop for a quick vacation earlier this month and I'm just now getting around to looking at the photos. The wifey wanted to go to Escudilla mountain, where we've gone hiking before to see how bad the Wallow Fire damage was. Unfortunately, it was pretty bad.

We had been up to Escudilla in October 2007 when the leaves were changing colors and it was pretty cool. Here are two pictures of the same spot to see the difference:

    Some of the damage.

There are still some nice spots though.

    Here's me with Mochi.

The dogs had a good time. We both really missed not having Denali on this trip.

    Here's a cow, I named him Jeff.

If we would have cleared out the area like we were supposed to (down to 90 trees per acre) we wouldn't have had that fire. It'll start looking good again in 15-20 years.

The cow looks more like a Will, or maybe Mark, but certainly not a Jeff.

    Nice pic's.

If it was a donkey, the name would have been obvious...

    Indeed, cool pix.

You know, originally, I just 'went with it', but now this way it kind of looks like Satan cow. Hmmm......

    You are exactly right.
