Thread: Cigar donation for deployed troops

  1. Default Cigar donation for deployed troops

My platoon is currently serving in Afghanistan. Many of us are avid cigar smokers, it enhances and evening and promotes an easy time just hanging out and relaxing with a tight knit group of friends. Good cigars are hard to come by over here, and we were looking for information pointing us in the direction of any groups or orginazations that would donate product to deployed soldiers. There are 14 soldiers in my platoon that enjoy a god social cigar.
    Thank you in advance.

Outside of the drama in that thread, there is good information regarding your question.

    Thanks for your service,

I want to personally thank you young men for your continued service and dedication. What you do is not easy. The hardest part it seems is missing out on the simple things that most take for granted (a good cigar) I wish you luck. I read about a group on FB called Cigars 4 Troops. Idk in you guys have aFB. I dont. They arent going to store my life story.

I again thank you for the information. I am however having trouble registering for the cigars for troops program. If anyone can help or has anymore info. Please reply.

Hmmm... I know you're anxious, but I suspect this process might take more than a day or two to put together. And I'd thought you'd read the link Will (Badwhale) put in this thread...

I'd suggest you reach out to the following individuals:

    Bill Schmidt - smitty@opfth.org
    Michael Ladd - michael@opfth.org
    Clint Green - clint@opfth.org

They're good folks and will take care you of.

You might also want to get in touch with "Sully". He's in Afgahanstan and is administering the Cigars for Troop program. He can be reached at:

I would love to add you, but I dont like the whole FB thing. They store your personal info and are starting to create a whole privacy thing. Big brother getting too nosey. I do hope that you can find out more info though. Also if you try calling a National Guard station near you, they might be able to fix you up with a number of someone to go to. Good luck. Let me know further down road what you find out. I love to do what I can to support our young men.

What's the deal, Jack? You seem awfully paranoid about internet privacy to be shooting off multiple unsolicited friend requests and pumping up the rating stars on every thread you have an attack of mental diarrhea on.

    Just sayin'.
