    Default Marathon Cigar Contest

I'm running the Seattle Marathon a week from Sunday and figured a contest was in order for the occasion. The closest guess of my finishing time in hrs:mins:secs gets a fiver of my best Acids and White Owls

Asshats need not apply & I'll make the final determination of status if there's a question. Of course, if there's a question, that's prolly your answer Everyone gets one guess & no editing once it's posted!

A couple of hints: My best 20 mile pace without crashing is 10:45 but pace tends to pick up during a race. The course is pretty difficult with hills at the beginning and end. The weather is generally shitty this time of year but can vary wildly. Last year it snowed two days before and then was decent the day of the race. I'm hoping for under 5 hours but it's my first so ultimately anything other than DNF is a win I'll post my bib number for verification after I pick up my race packet next week. The contest closes 11/26.

Cool contest! Good luck with your run. I have only run 10k runs so I can't even fathom running a marathon. My guess is:

I need to ask a question if I could. Are you running a 3 .1 mile Marathon on the 26 of Nov? I just want to be clear how far this run is before I guess. Thanks!

Thanks for the contest and good luck! It'd be awesome to see you cross that finish line with a cigar in your mouth at 4:34:34.

26.2 miles on Sun the 27th. It's an excuse to gorge on Thurs but I don't get my beer until after

When I first came up with the idea to do this I envisioned crossing the line to my wife with a beer and a good cigar. After she pointed out the whole open container issue with that scenario I settled for just the cigar. After finishing my first 20 mile run, I decided I'd enjoy the cigar much better when sitting in my shop, feet up, blues playing with a single malt and a beer

Be extra careful not to inhale if you're sucking wind at the finish line!

I know a guy who used to run marathons, and at the end of one, his girlfriend gave him a cigarette at the finish line, and everyone boo'd him. LOL

He used to say "Yeah, some people go up in the mountains & shit to cross train where there's less air...I just smoke."

ETA: Hmmm...not sure how that happened. "me=him"? WTF?

    That was odd...

No, I never ever run marathons, or anything. I'm not even a big fan of running if someone's chasing me.
