Thread: Had my first cigar today....

  1. Smile Had my first cigar today....

And I liked it! A buddy of mine gave me a San Cristobal Clasico to try, and it was pretty good. I wouldn't mind trying a few different ones out,but have no idea which to choose. Any help would be great!

Wish I started out with something so nice. Try a Padron.

Welcome to the forum from AZ, I'd recommend doing a newbie sampler, you'll get a good variety of sticks to try.

I second what Buzz and Badwhale Johnson said. St Luis Rey,most Fuente without a green band on the foot , and lots of others. Honestly read the reviews here and Im sure you will have to find what you like and dont like and smoke some shit in the process
The older I get ,the better I was

hey, thanks for the welcome everyone!

Ive been reading a bunch of the reviews and feel a bit overwhelmed lol. I liked the Cristobal, but it tasted pretty light to me.

IF the Cristobal was light to you and you want a strong cigar then look no farther then the JDN Antonio 1970 but i don't recommend that to a new smoker.

Have a look at the Camacho Triple maduro that may be a better in between cigar for you.

I always keep at least 5 cigars around for when some of my friends turn 18. I always use gispert toros. Lovely cigars, with nice flavour. They are my favorite for beginners because they have what i consider to be a perfect draw. They are pretty mild but you can puff more often without the aftertaste. I smoke these often myself also. So keep them in mind when looking for cigars. Their singles price is about 6 I think.

What a great way to start off! Welcome to the board! The buddy that gave you that cigar has god taste and should be able to help you out with some other choices also. It all really comes down to what you enjoy. It's a mission of trial and error. Good luck

Try a lot of different cigars. Your tastes will evolve and change. If you liked the San Cristobal there are very few cigars you should be afraid of. I think any cigar blended by Don Pepin Garcia or Nicaraguan puro would suit you.

Can't go wrong when somebody with the taste of a god makes a recommendation.
