  1. Default Please help-Humidifier block

Which is the correct side of the block that should be facing down???

I just bought a new humifdifier block for my humidor. The owner of the cigar store couldn't tell me which side should be facing up and which side should be facing down. On one side there 3 blocks next to each other. On the other side there is a metal block in the middle separating the other two blocks. Does the side with the metal piece go facing down or up?

Please help. I have some crystal beads on the way but I want to put this in there before they get here to stabilize the temp/humidity

    Thanks

And just a quick FYI. I've been smoking cigars for about 10 years and never appreciated them until last year. Just starting out but I'd love to get some recommendations from you experts out there. Can't wait!

Buy some Heartfelt beads. Throw everything else in the trash.

Thanks a lot guys. The heartfelt beads are actually the ones I purchased.

Ordered them last week and there still not here. I got the 6x2" tube filled with the beads. Did I buy te right one or would recommend the beads in a small nylon bag?

    Mark,

Do you have to replace those often? I heard from a source that the heartfelt beads were the best so that's why I wanted to try them out. I've heard nothing but good things about them

I just add distilled water to them when the humidity starts to drop in my humidor. I have the 65% beads and they hold the humidity (according to my hygrometer) between 64-66%. Once the humidity drops to about 61%, I add more water. Make sure you have a quality hygrometer and that you are not relying on the one built in to your humidor (unless you have calibrated it and are certain it is working correctly).
