Default My Father ~ No.4 Lancero

Smoke: My Father ~ No. 4 (lancero)
    Drink: Yuengling Lord Chesterfield Ale
    Tunes: N/A
    Date Smoked: 11/10/11

    Wrapper: Nicaraguan
    Binder: Nicaraguan
    Filler: Nicaraguan
    Draw: Medium
    Burn: Great
    Misc: n/a

Pre-light: Great construction with a nice little pigtail cap. Colorado maduro shade wrapper. A little splotchy in color and pronounced veins. Sweet musky tobacco scent. Sweet and spicy tobacco on the cut prelight taste.

    Light: Pretty easy. Medium draw.

1st 3rd: Oily. Spice. Cedar woodsy. Oily tobacco aftertaste. Flavorful. Mellow out a bit about ľ” in, but still spicy and oily.

Ash: Looks flakey and fragile, but is going out to about 1” Light gray with a tan twinge.

2nd 3rd: Smoothed out. Draw is nice, and I don’t really have to “baby” this lancero. Oily, spicy sweet tobacco and woodsy. I’d call this a medium to full body smoke. Medium to full flavor. Great improvement over the megareview blind review robusto I had. Maybe that one was a dud.

3rd 3rd: A lot like the 1st and 2nd 3rd. Spice picking up a bit more. Woodsy, oily & sweet tobacco. Very pleasant and interesting.

Overall impression: This the second vitola I’ve had in this line, and I’d feel confident in recommending it. Definitely.

Received 2 of these from separate BOTLs shortly after one another. This one if from the 1st sender, and I thanked the other sender in “today’s smokes” Thank you!

Yes, there is something about the Lancero vitola in that blend that makes it fantastic.

Sounds like one I must Try. Will be in my first order of the new year if one of my online retailers has them in stock.

    Thanks for the review
