Thread: Help finding cheap, decent cigars for party?

  1. Default Help finding cheap, decent cigars for party?

My friend is a big fan of the show Mad Men, and has fallen in love with the 50s/60s. So he is having a costume/theme party. He assigned to me the task of finding ~40 cigars for under $30, including shipping. So I ask: can you all help a man in need of suggestions? Haha. Any suggestions would be welcome, links would be fantastic. Please don't tell me cheap cigars are bad: I know, they're for a party. If I had $40 to spend per cigar I would. But my friend only gave me $30 for ~40 cigars. Thanks in advance!

Cigars or cigarillos are fine. No little cigars though ("they're just brown cigarettes" my friend says).

Looks as if your friend is in love with 50's/60's prices. You're not going to find 40 decent cigars for $30 including shipping. Best you will do would be a 20 or 25 cigar bundle for around $20. That most likely won't include shipping.

Not only did I keep you within budget, but you even have enough $$ left over to show up with a 40 of the finest malt liquor of your choosing. (Personally, I like Colt 45. If it's good enough for Billy D.....Well) Enjoy the party good sir, I'm jealous.

PS Good for your distinguished friend to not allow any "brown cigarettes" at the party. Some people!?!

We've started watching the show recently from the beginning. I hardly recall seeing any cigars. Grab a carton of Lucky Strikes.
    Latest smokes:
    Cigar: 5/19: Nub Connecticut 464T
    Pipe: 3/16: G.L. Pease~Charing Cross

  6. Default Think I found some...

I don't know, he specifically said "cigars." I just wanted to apologize if I offended anyone here, I really don't smoke and therefore don't know much. I did, however, find these cigars for my friend:

Tell me what you guys think

No offense taken whatsoever if that's directed at me. Just having a little fun.

I don't know anything about the sticks you linked but I definitely agree with JiveTurkey. Mostly cig smokers on the show from what I've seen. Hope the party's a blast!

I looked at the cigars you linked, and honestly, those can't be very good at all. Are people going to actually try and smoke them?

Why don't you just get some Garcia Vegas and be done with it. If it's over budget, just chip the little extra in and don't tell your friend. They're not the greatest, but they're smokable, and it sound like nobody will really be focusing on the cigar anyway.

I was recently gifted a bundle of Famous Smoke shops nic 3000. Very cheap (2.35 a stick) and surprisingly good as they age. Might be worth a look.

    I got a $100 that says he's not even 16, lol....

Hate to go over a $30 budget... Even the kids at Taco Time can beat that. I certainly can at Burger Inn, hahahaa
